McDonald’s is preparing to close one of its oldest locations at Disney, marking a significant change in the brand’s presence at the theme parks. The fast-food chain, which has partnered with Disney for decades, will close the original Disneyland Paris Resort location in early 2026, making way for a new chapter at the European Disney park.
McDonald’s and Disney have had a longstanding relationship, dating back to the 1980s, when they began collaborating on Happy Meal toys. Over the years, McDonald’s kiosks popped up in several Disney parks, including Disneyland Park, EPCOT, and Magic Kingdom Park. A full McDonald’s restaurant was also a staple in Walt Disney World Resort’s Downtown Disney District (now known as Disney Springs).
McDonald’s even sponsored the DINOSAUR attraction (originally called Countdown to Extinction) when it first opened in Disney’s Animal Kingdom in 1998. Though McDonald’s ended its sponsorship in 2008, traces of the collaboration remain in the form of red, yellow, and white pipes inside the ride that reference ketchup, mustard, and mayonnaise.
By the early 2000s, kiosks and most of the full-size Golden Arches locations at Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort were phased out. Removing these locations was part of a broader cultural shift toward healthier eating, particularly for children. As a result, McDonald’s only has one remaining onsite location in the U.S. at Walt Disney World Resort, near the All-Star Resorts.
While onsite McDonald’s locations in the U.S. have dwindled, the international parks are a different story. Disneyland Paris Resort, in particular, has long been home to a McDonald’s in the Disney Village shopping and dining area. Since opening in 1999, the Disneyland Paris McDonald’s has been a reliable and affordable option for guests looking for a quick meal.
But change is on the horizon. Over the past few months, McDonald’s has been building a new location near Lake Disney in Disney Village. This new restaurant will replace the existing McDonald’s and feature “an innovative architecture designed exclusively for Disneyland Paris.” While the new location is still under construction, it is expected to open sometime in early 2026.
On Wednesday, X (formerly known as Twitter) user @DLPReport shared several updated photos of McDonald’s construction at Disney Village. The new location is coming together quickly, and the roof will be added soon.

Guests visiting Disneyland Park and Walt Disney Studios Park can still enjoy Big Macs and McNuggets at the original Disney Village McDonald’s. Disneyland Paris Resort has not announced an exact opening date for the new fast-food restaurant.
