The Disney Store has joined the company's theme parks in their familiar autumn tradition of price hikes, raising costs on one of Disney's most iconic souvenirs: Mickey and Minnie Mouse ear headbands.
Ear Headband Prices Climb
Disney Parks fans have grown accustomed to seeing annual October price increases at Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort, covering everything from food and beverages to merchandise. This year, the Disney Store's online shop followed that same pattern in late September, raising prices on one of its most beloved accessory lines.
Most standard ear headbands on the Disney Store website previously sold for $36.99. That price has now climbed to $38.99 for nearly all of the popular Mickey and Minnie Mouse-inspired accessories. The increase extends beyond traditional mouse ears, touching non-mouse-style headbands like the Bluey and Bingo designs, both tied to the popular Australian children's series that has recently inspired entertainment additions at Disneyland Park and Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park.
Not every headband is priced at exactly $38.99, but outside of clearance sales, prices are unlikely to dip below that new baseline. Some more elaborate designs or brand collaborations actually cost even more, such as the Minnie Mouse Halloween Ear Headband for Adults by BaubleBar, currently priced at $44.99.
Bargain hunters still have a few opportunities to save before select discounted styles sell out entirely, including the Maleficent Ear Headband inspired by Sleeping Beauty (1959), currently marked down to $29.59, and the Zero Headband inspired by Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993), also priced at $29.59.
Given the timing of this online price hike, Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort are expected to roll out similar increases on Mickey and Minnie Mouse ear headbands, as well as other merchandise, food, and beverage items, sometime this month. The theme parks have followed this pattern of October price increases for several years running, though Disney typically doesn't provide advance notice before implementing these changes for guests.
