Mickey Mouse traded the Florida sunshine for a Pennsylvania ballfield this weekend, stepping onto the mound for one of youth baseball's biggest moments of the year.
Captain Mickey Takes the Mound
Representing Disney Cruise Line, Captain Mickey Mouse appeared in South Williamsport, Pennsylvania, on August 30, throwing the ceremonial first pitch ahead of the championship game of the 2026 Little League World Series. The beloved 97-year-old Disney mascot marked the occasion with the honor bestowed on Championship Sunday.
Little League shared a video of the magical moment on X (formerly Twitter), writing:

The game itself ended with Pariba Little League from Willemstad, Curaçao, defeating Paseo Verde Little League from Henderson, Nevada by a final score of 11–2. The win gave Curaçao its second Little League World Series championship, following its first title back in 2004.
Why Mickey Was There
Mickey's appearance served a promotional purpose, encouraging the players, families, and spectators in attendance to consider booking a Disney Cruise. While Port Canaveral, Florida, remains Disney Cruise Line's busiest departure point, the company currently operates eight active ships sailing from ports across North America, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and Singapore.
Disney has plans to grow that fleet significantly, adding five more ships in the coming years, with sailings launching from Japan as early as 2029.
How Mickey Mouse Does It All
Of course, longtime Disney Parks fans know the truth: there's only one Mickey Mouse. But through the magic that keeps Disney running, Mickey and his character friends somehow manage to appear everywhere at once — greeting guests, starring in parades, and popping up in shows across Florida, California, and Disney destinations worldwide.
So while Mickey Mouse represented Disney Cruise Line in Pennsylvania on Sunday, he was also simultaneously delighting guests at Walt Disney World Resort, Disneyland Resort, aboard all eight Disney Cruise Line ships, and at Disney parks around the globe. Magic really is something else!
