Guests settling into Grizzly Hall for a performance of the Country Bear Musical Jamboree on Tuesday got a slightly different show than they bargained for, as one of its most iconic characters simply wasn't there.
The Hatch Stays Shut

Teddi Barra has been a fixture of the Country Bear experience since the original show's 1971 run, descending from a ceiling hatch on a swing. In the reimagined Country Bear Musical Jamboree that debuted in July 2024, she continues that tradition. Now voiced by Grammy winner Allison Russell, she swings above the audience to perform a country arrangement of “A Whole New World” from Aladdin (1992).
On Tuesday, though, the hatch didn't open. WDWNT reported that Teddi Barra was absent from performances throughout the day, her ceiling entrance remaining closed while her voice played over the speakers. Wendell and Gomer continued their stage performance of “A Whole New World” without her. See a photo of the modified show below:
She was similarly absent during the finale, a country-style take on “The Bare Necessities” from The Jungle Book (1967).
Walt Disney World Resort has not acknowledged the change or indicated when the audio-animatronic will return to the show.
Teddi Barra's Third Disappearance

The good news for fans is that Teddi Barra has a track record of coming back. She went missing from Grizzly Hall in September 2025 and again in February 2026, and on both occasions, she was back swinging above the audience within a few days to a week. Hopefully, Tuesday's absence is more of the same.
Country Bear Musical Jamboree continues running continuous performances at Grizzly Hall from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., Teddi Barra or not. Check the Walt Disney World Resort website or the My Disney Experience app for the most up-to-date theme park entertainment schedules.
