The Walt Disney World Resort is always changing, with new rides and attractions like TRON Lightcycle / Run at Magic Kingdom and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT adding to the magic. It’s crucial for theme parks to evolve, and there’s no place more impressive or fun than “The Most Magical Place on Earth.”

These new expansions and additions continue to Walt Disney World’s collection of hotels, with a new location getting ready to open later this year.

Back in 2022, Disney announced that the Cake Bake Shop would be opening at Disney’s Boardwalk Resort, taking over the former ESPN Club location, which had been a staple of the Resort since 1996.

According to Disney, “This restaurant will offer both savory and dessert menus, along with afternoon tea service, in a whimsical atmosphere that complements the magic of the idyllic charm of Disney’s BoardWalk that guests know and love.

As shown in new photos from bioreconstruct (@bioreconstruct), the Cake Bake Shop by Gwendolyn Rogers is finally nearing completion.

The Cake Bake Shop at Disney’s Boardwalk Resort was originally supposed to open in 2024, but due to delays, the grand opening was pushed back indefinitely. The new location has a reopening window of 2025, but no concrete date has been set.

Disney’s Boardwalk is one of the many hotel options guests can choose from during their vacation at Walt Disney World, providing guests with “timeless charm” and a quarter-mile of unique dining and shopping opportunities. At the Boardwalk, Disney encourages guests to take a stroll along the edge of the water, play carvial-inspired games, and explore various nightlife entertainment.

Disney’s Boardwalk is just that, evoking a turn-of-the-century style boardwalk inspired by coaster cities such as Atlantic City. While not connected to the Walt Disney World Monorail or the Walt Disney World Skyliner, Disney’s Boardwalk offers guests water taxi service to and from EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Disney’s Boardwalk joins other locations as some of the most iconic places to stay at the Walt Disney World resort, like Disney’s Polynesian Village, Disney’s Contemporary, Disney’s Grand Floridian, Disney’s Port Orleans, and Disney’s Yacht & Beach Club.

About Luke Dammann

When at Disney world, Luke will probably be found eating with his favorite animatronic, Sonny Eclipse at Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe. When not at Disney World, Luke will probably be found defending Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe to people who claim "there are better restaurants"
