Jurassic World Rebirth, the seventh film in the long-running franchise, hit theaters last summer. Directed by Gareth Edwards and written by David Koepp, it stars Scarlett Johansson as covert ops expert Zora Bennett, who must lead a specialized team to recover dinosaur DNA on an abandoned InGen island named Ile Saint-Hubert. But along the way, they encounter unexpected mutant threats such as the D-Rex and the Mutadons.
The film was a box office success, grossing $869.1 million worldwide. However, despite being touted as a “standalone” entry, a sequel is rumored to be in development. And now, Jurassic World Rebirth is also about to influence the gaming side of the franchise.
The “Jurassic World Evolution” games, developed by Frontier Developments, have supported their base releases with DLCs (downloadable content) since the first title debuted in 2018. These expansions tend to add new species, new maps, additional cosmetic content, and other features tied to the films and wider Jurassic franchise lore.
The latest title is “Jurassic World Evolution 3”, launched last October for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC. That game, set after the events of Jurassic World Dominion (2022), introduced a host of dinosaurs and improved visuals and mechanics for fans to build and manage their own dinosaur conservation facilities around the world. However, despite following Rebirth by a few months, it is completely unrelated to that film.

This week, however, players got their first confirmation of a dedicated Rebirth DLC. Reddit user HeavyGold8 shared footage from a publicly available Frontier livestream — sourced from the studio’s official website and focused on the company’s annual report — showing developers confirm that they have “a PDLC for Rebirth coming up.”
The mention was brief and no further details were offered about timing or content.
While Frontier has not yet published a standalone DLC announcement, players are already putting forward expectations based on Rebirth’s creatures and locations, including the D‑Rex, Mutadons and the third InGen island, Île Saint‑Hubert.
Talk of this DLC comes amid ongoing chatter about another Jurassic World film following Rebirth. Nothing has been officially announced for a sequel yet, but speculation continues among fans and industry observers about where Universal might take the franchise next — especially given Rebirth’s standalone positioning and cast shift from previous chapters.
