Parents Are the Luckiest Guests at Disney World Right Now and Here’s Why

Most of the attention around Hollywood Studios right now is focused on Rock ‘n' Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets opening to the general public on May 26, the new Smugglers Run Mandalorian mission, the Walt Disney Studios area debut, and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live!. All of that coverage is warranted. But tucked into the Walt Disney Studios courtyard, alongside everything else that just opened, is something that parents visiting Hollywood Studios this summer with infants and toddlers are going to be genuinely grateful for once they find it.

The Baby Care Center at Hollywood Studios just moved to a brand new location, and it is significantly better than what existed before.

The Old Location and Why This Is an Upgrade

The previous Baby Care Center was at Guest Relations on Hollywood Boulevard at the front of the park. It worked in the basic sense that it existed and had the essential features Baby Care Centers need. But its position at the park entrance meant that using it required pulling the family backward toward the front gates from wherever they happened to be, which is not the direction any parent wants to go when they have a hungry baby and a toddler who is losing patience.

The new location is in the Walt Disney Studios courtyard, positioned across from the area restrooms beside the entry to The Magic of Disney Animation building. It is right next to Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live!, The Little Mermaid: A Musical Adventure and the Drawn to Wonderland indoor playground, which opens later this summer. The Walt Disney Studios courtyard has a noticeably calmer atmosphere than the rest of Hollywood Studios, and the Baby Care Center sits within easy reach of the family-focused activities that parents with young children are already most likely to be doing in that area of the park.

What the New Space Actually Has

The facility has been themed to match its new animation-focused surroundings. Disney baby artwork from films including Tarzan, Tangled, The Jungle Book, Moana, Peter Pan, Hercules, The Princess and the Frog, and Incredibles 2 covers the walls alongside small animation details, including art supplies in one of the display cases. A welcome wall features a poem alongside framed artwork from Disney animated films.

The open seating area has high chairs, small chairs for toddlers, and a large television playing Disney cartoons. That last detail is more useful than it sounds. A TV playing familiar Disney content is the difference between a sibling who sits patiently and a sibling who decides the Baby Care Center is the worst place they have ever been.

The private nursing room has rocking chairs and charging outlets, providing a separate, quiet space away from the main area for nursing mothers who need more than a corner of a crowded park to work in.

The practical essentials are all covered. Sink, dish soap, filtered hot and cold water, disposable cups and plates, microwaves, and bottle warmers for feeding. Large changing tables in the back with disposable covers and a sink. A family bathroom that makes the whole facility a genuine one-stop solution rather than a partial fix that still requires locating additional restrooms for everything else.

Essential items are available for purchase, including diapers, a change of clothing, snacks for young children, and over-the-counter medications. Running out of diapers halfway through a park day is the kind of thing that ends vacations early. Having them available without leaving the park is a practical solution that matters more than it might look like on a checklist.

Why This Specific Summer Matters for Disney

Hollywood Studios is adding a significant amount of family-focused content this summer. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live! is a Disney Junior experience specifically designed for the youngest park guests. The Drawn to Wonderland indoor playground is set to open later this summer. The Walt Disney Studios area features green spaces and a relaxed atmosphere that offer families a genuine alternative to the higher-intensity sections of the park.

The new Baby Care Center in the middle of all of that is not an afterthought. It is a facility that fits naturally into an area that Disney is clearly building around families with young children, and it delivers the amenities those families actually need.

Parents visiting Hollywood Studios this summer with infants and toddlers should find the new Baby Care Center before they need it, rather than when they are already dealing with a situation that requires it immediately. It is in the Walt Disney Studios courtyard. Next to the Magic of Disney Animation building. Right beside Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live!.

It is there. It is better than before. Parents are the luckiest guests at Hollywood Studios right now and this is exactly why.
