The end of February into March is shaping up to be quite crowded at the Walt Disney World Resort. With lots of events taking place during this time the upcoming crowds are to be expected, and it seems Disney just extended park hours for some of the theme parks in anticipation of the upcoming crowds.
The latest hint of upcoming crowd levels at Disney Parks came earlier today when Disney’s official website and the My Disney Experience app updated park hours for both the Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Animal Kingdom for the end of this month and into March.
The dates where park hours have been extended include February 27 through March 5, 2022, a week that is spring break for many high schools and colleges across the country and is typically a busy time at Walt Disney World every year.
has moved its closing time up one to 9 pm (previously 8 pm) during most days of that week, with a 10 pm closure on March 5. Disney’s was previously scheduled to close at 6 pm, and since this morning’s change the has extended closing hours back to 8 pm giving Guests an extra two hours in the parks each day.
Both EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios park hours have not been adjusted at this time, but it is possible they will change closer to spring break depending on trends in crowd levels.
Between now and the first week of March, the Walt Disney World Resort will host the Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend, along with multiple school vacation weeks, spring break, and the upcoming long weekend for Presidents Day, so larger than usual crowd levels are anticipated for about the next month or so.
are now available through the end of April 2022. And as always, if you are visiting in the coming weeks , (or anytime for that matter), we strongly suggest checking for advanced dining reservations at must-do restaurants and planning ahead to prepare for the increased crowd levels.
