Walt Disney World Resort has confirmed that a fan-favorite dining spot at Disney's All-Star Sports Resort is heading into a multi-month refurbishment, giving Central Florida Disney Park guests plenty of advance notice before their next stay.
Grandstand Spirits Pool Bar Set to Close

Walt Disney World Resort announced on September 2 that the Grandstand Spirits Pool Bar at Disney's All-Star Sports Resort will close for refurbishment starting September 18, 2026. Guests won't be left entirely without options: a temporary pool bar will operate nearby during the closure, though it's unclear whether that pop-up location will offer the same full menu guests are used to at the permanent bar.
What This Means for Your Stay
The refurbishment isn't expected to disrupt the overall guest experience at Disney's All-Star Sports Resort. Existing and future reservations will be honored as normal, though guests may notice construction activity during the day. Walt Disney World Resort typically schedules disruptive work during daytime hours, when most guests are out exploring Magic Kingdom Park, EPCOT, Disney's Hollywood Studios, Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park, or Disney Springs.

Disney says the Grandstand Spirits Pool Bar will reopen in mid-December 2026, though an exact reopening date hasn't been shared. It also remains unclear whether guests should expect any noticeable changes to the space once it reopens.
What About the Other All-Star Resorts?
So far, Walt Disney World Resort hasn't announced similar pool bar closures at either Disney's All-Star Music Resort or Disney's All-Star Movies Resort. While there's no confirmation of upcoming refurbishments at the pool bars of those properties, Disney often rolls out these projects in phases — meaning the Singing Spirits Pool Bar and Silver Screen Spirits Pool Bar could see similar closures down the line.

Disney's All-Star Movies Resort is already undergoing a separate refurbishment, with both guest rooms and the Donald's Double Feature merchandise location currently being updated. The Value Resort hotel and its gift shop remain open throughout that process, though guests may find a smaller selection of souvenirs available during their visit.
