Ride Rise of Resistance Without A Boarding Group – For A Price

To be completely honest, one of our least favorite things about visiting Disney’s Hollywood Studios is having to deal with Star Wars: Rise of Resistance. Don’t get us wrong. This attraction is one of the BEST attractions we’ve ever experienced. The stress of having a chance to ride the attraction is super intense however. This is the one attraction at Walt Disney World that does not have a Standby line, but instead is a virtual queue – requiring guests to use their My Disney Experience App to join a boarding group. Well, it looks like this is changing for select guests – but you’ll need to be willing to pay.

Rise of Resistance boarding groups sell out ridiculously fast. If you fumble your phone at all or push a wrong button, you may miss your chance to board Rise of Resistance. If you miss the first boarding group attempt which opens on the My Disney Experience App at 7:00am, you’ll have one more chance to join a boarding group at 1:00pm. Within a minute of each of these times opening, the virtual queue fills up leaving many guests disappointed that they won’t be able to enjoy the attraction. UNLESS… you now book a VIP Tour.

As reported by InsideTheMagic: “Previously, Disney World’s VIP tour offerings did not include Rise of the Resistance access, but as of July 11, 2021 that is changing. Via the official Walt Disney World Resort online chat, a Cast Member confirmed that Guests who purchase select VIP tours of Disney’s Hollywood Studios Park will be able to board Rise of the Resistance starting tomorrow (7/11).”

So, what do you think? Are you ready to bypass attempting to snag a Star Wars: Rise of Resistance boarding group for the price of a VIP Tour? According to Disney: “The team at Disney VIP Tour Services will plan the most efficient, enjoyable way for groups up to 10 Guests to see and do the things on your list. Just tell your personal VIP Tour Guide what you’d like to see, and they’ll customize your day to your desire!” Some of the personalized services include:

  • Pre-arrival planning
  • A flexible start time, picked by you
  • Visits to multiple theme parks* in one or more days
  • The ability to enjoy some of your favorite attractions efficiently
  • Shared insight from your highly knowledgeable VIP Tour Guide throughout your tour
  • *All VIP Tours require valid theme park admission, which is not included in the price of the tour

The cost of a VIP Tour ranges from $425 to $750 per hour, depending on the season (valid park admission is required for each park visited on tour and is not included in the price of the tour). Reservations: Call (407) 560-4033 to book. Would you be willing to pay the cost of a VIP Tour for the chance to not bother with the stressful Rise of Resistance boarding group?

About Mike and Jamie Sylvester

We are Disney nerds. Two kids at heart who love the magic and the memories of Walt Disney World! We follow all things Disney and have great experiences with Disney Vacation Club and RunDisney events in particular. We enjoy the vacations, day trips, weekend getaways and geek out over the planning of such events. From lodging to dining to Fastpasses we have a spreadsheet for every occasion. Mike’s frivolous Disney goal is to acquire a magic band of every style while Jamie’s goal is to experience as many Disney desserts as possible. Usually there isn’t a day that passes without some discussion of the master plan of our next trip to the happiest place on earth. Most people think we’re normal – until they travel to Disney with us. We have been married for 16 years and are blessed with a daughter and a son who have already learned the importance of planning ahead! As a family we thoroughly enjoy the magic and the memories at Walt Disney World and are here to help others experience the magic as well.
