Shanghai Disney Confirms New Hotel Opening, Midnight Booking Date

Official Bookings Arriving Soon

Shanghai Disney Resort has confirmed that its newest hotel, the Shanghai Disney Enchanted Star Hotel, will officially open on December 16, 2026. Reservations begin November 6 at midnight Shanghai time, giving prospective guests a specific deadline to prepare for the property's debut.

The announcement introduces a new booking opportunity for visitors planning a Shanghai Disneyland vacation, but it also raises a practical concern: securing a preferred room at a hotel with approximately 400 accommodations.

For families hoping to experience the property shortly after opening, the reservation launch could become an important part of their vacation planning.

Shanghai Disney Enchanted Star Hotel Sets December Opening

The new property will become Shanghai Disney Resort's third themed hotel, joining Shanghai Disneyland Hotel and Toy Story Hotel.

Disney previously identified the project as part of its expanding hospitality portfolio. In June, the company confirmed the hotel's name and winter opening plans, describing a deluxe property overlooking Shanghai Disneyland and Wishing Star Park.

The December 16 opening date now provides a firm target for travelers.

Located beside Shanghai Disneyland Hotel near Wishing Star Lake, the nine-story property incorporates early twentieth-century Shanghai architectural influences and Art Nouveau design.

Its approximately 400 rooms will offer another accommodation option within the destination, although that number does not indicate how many rooms will be available for any particular arrival date.

The project follows years of development. Inside the Magic previously covered construction progress on Shanghai Disney's third hotel, when its theme and opening date remained unannounced.

Midnight Reservations Create a Planning Challenge

Reservations are scheduled to begin at 12:00 a.m. China Standard Time on Friday, November 6.

For American travelers, that translates to Thursday, November 5, at 12:00 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time and 9:00 a.m. Pacific Standard Time.

That distinction matters. Despite the midnight launch in Shanghai, guests booking from the continental United States will not necessarily need to stay awake overnight.

Nevertheless, a fixed reservation opening can create pressure for families coordinating flights, vacation schedules, and preferred accommodations.

The initial release will include Deluxe Rooms, Park View Deluxe Rooms, Dream Rooms, and Club Rooms. Additional room categories are expected to become available closer to opening.

Reservations will be offered through Shanghai Disney Resort's reservation center, official booking channels, and authorized travel partners, according to the resort announcement reported by Chinese news outlet Jiemian News.

Importantly, Disney has not confirmed that the booking system will use a virtual queue, experience widespread delays, or sell out immediately.

There is also no verified evidence that automated purchasing bots or unauthorized resellers will disrupt this particular launch.

Why 400 Rooms Could Matter to Disney Visitors

The property's relatively limited inventory creates a straightforward consideration: not every interested traveler can secure the same room category for the same dates.

However, its 400-room capacity should not be confused with a confirmed shortage affecting millions of visitors.

No verified forecast establishes how many people intend to book the hotel, which dates will attract the greatest demand, or how quickly reservations might disappear.

The hotel's opening also expands a hospitality lineup that previously consisted of two Disney-operated properties. Inside the Magic has covered Shanghai Disneyland's existing hotel accommodations, including the flagship Shanghai Disneyland Hotel and Pixar-inspired Toy Story Hotel.

Guests unable to reserve Enchanted Star Hotel can therefore consider existing accommodations rather than assuming their entire vacation is jeopardized.

Travelers should compare cancellation policies, room categories, available dates, and total costs before committing to a reservation.

Booking early may provide more choices, but it does not guarantee availability or establish that a particular room represents the best value.

Disney's New Hotel Offers More Than Additional Rooms

Enchanted Star Hotel's appeal extends beyond its opening date.

Disney has described an experience centered on the Wishing Star, incorporating familiar characters, themed recreation, and views of the surrounding resort.

The property will feature indoor swimming facilities, children's play areas, and a seasonal outdoor swimming pool.

Guests will also benefit from a dedicated connection to Shanghai Disneyland Hotel, allowing access to shared recreational amenities and selected hospitality facilities.

The development reflects Disney's broader strategy of expanding experiences beyond theme park attractions.

According to the Shanghai municipal government's expansion update, additional resort projects include another themed hotel and a Spider-Man-inspired land.

Shanghai Disneyland's growth has already included Zootopia, while Disney continues developing attractions and supporting infrastructure.

Inside the Magic previously examined Disney's broader Shanghai expansion strategy, including the resort's growing hotel portfolio.

For travelers, additional lodging creates more choices, although individual pricing and availability will ultimately determine each property's practical appeal.

What Guests Should Watch Before November 6

Prospective guests should identify preferred travel dates and acceptable alternative accommodations before reservations open.

Disney has confirmed the booking schedule, but detailed availability for individual dates and room categories remains subject to the reservation system.

Travelers should also review Shanghai Disneyland's visitor identification requirements when coordinating hotel reservations with park admission.

The next milestone arrives November 6, when guests can begin evaluating actual room availability and published booking terms.

Until then, claims of inevitable sellouts, bot interference, or a reservation meltdown remain speculation rather than established facts.

For visitors hoping to stay when Enchanted Star Hotel welcomes its first guests December 16, preparation matters more than panic.
