Guns at Walt Disney World?
In May, 2013, a young boy found a loaded gun on the seat of the Dinosaur ride at the Animal Kingdom Park. It had fallen out of a man’s back pocket. The grandmother of the boy turned the gun over to a cast member who immediately called security, who in turn called the Sheriff’s Office. The owner of the gun returned to claim his firearm. He told Park security that he had no idea Disney prohibited guns on its property. He did have a valid Florida concealed-weapons permit, so no charges were filed. Photo credit www.wftv.com
Then, in December, 2015, a Miami lawyer was arrested after attempting to bring a gun into the Magic Kingdom, and when he was questioned at the turnstile about a bulge in his pocket, he panicked and ran from security, but was caught. He was charged with carrying a concealed weapon onto Disney property. His concealed weapons permit had expired. Why in the world would anyone bring a gun to any Disney Park!
