Magic Kingdom Vs. Epcot - A Comparison of Disney’s Most Popular Parks

Epcot Map

2. Park Sectors vs. Park Size

Epcot ranks second in Walt Disney World park size coming in behind Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Epcot is a monster of a park covering a massive 300 acres as compared to the 142-acre Magic Kingdom. A day of visiting attractions and covering ground at Walt Disney World often makes guests believers as they see how many more miles they rack up exploring Epcot each day. While Epcot’s acres are numerous it is divided into only two sections, Future World and World Showcase. Future World explores science, communication, physics and many more concepts through rides and films. World Showcase presents the culture of eleven countries from around the globe. The Magic Kingdom is divided into five lands that embrace themes and stories from classic Disney films. Main Street U.S.A, Adventureland, Frontierland, Liberty Square, Fantasyland, Storybook Circus and Tommorowland are the sectors that comprise the park. Rides, restaurants and stores that speak to the theme of each land are located around the park. Explore the old south with Brer Rabbit in Frontierland’s Splash Mountain, channel your inner Ichabod Crane as you enjoy stuffed waffles in Liberty Square or catch a glimpse of Ariel herself in Fantasyland.
