Starlight Safaris Have Returned to Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge

As offerings around Disney resorts continue to return to Walt Disney World, we are excited to share the Starlight Safaris are now available once again to book for Guests visiting Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge!

The Starlight Safari is an exclusive event only available on the savanna at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge that allows Guests to embark on an after-dark safari tour. While it takes place at Animal Kingdom Lodge, the experience is not limited to Guests of this resort, any Walt Disney World Guests (or locals!) are welcome to book this experience to see the savanna after dark.

During the safari, Guests will board an open-air safari vehicle and scan the savanna after sundown for over 30 species of wildlife native to Africa. While onboard, Guests will be provided with special night vision devices so they can easily view all of the animals without disrupting them with artificial lighting. Many of the animals are more active in the evening hours, so the safari truly offers a unique experience that cannot be replicated during the day.

The entire experience lasts for about one hour, and it does have age restrictions to note if you are visiting Walt Disney World with little ones. Guests taking a Starlight Safari must be at least eight years old, and anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult who is 18 or older to participate.

To make the most of your visit to Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, you may want to book dinner reservations at one of the resort’s table service restaurants, Boma, Sanaa, or Jiko. The resort also has one of the best Disney resort gift shops around offering a number of authentic items that were handcrafted in Africa, and the lobby at Animal Kingdom Lodge features work of art and artifacts direct from Africa as well.

Advanced reservations are required for the Starlight Safari experience, and reservations are available beginning today March 10, 2022, for all upcoming safaris. Reservations are $89 per person and can be booked online through Disney’s official website.
