Disney Shares Sneak Peek at New Version of Original Donald Duck Character

Disneyland Resort has shared an exciting sneak peek at the updated look for one of its most iconic characters, Donald Duck, just in time for the highly anticipated Disneyland70 celebrations. The new version of Donald Duck and his partner Daisy Duck will be exclusively featured at Donald’s Tales of Adventure Dinner Buffet at Storytellers Cafe at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, beginning on May 16, 2025.

This character dining experience will premiere alongside Disneyland70 celebrations across Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park. The campfire-inspired dinner buffet will showcase not only Donald and Daisy but also Goofy, Pluto, and Clarabelle Cow as they greet guests in their newly updated outfits.

Disney Parks fans got their first look at the updated versions of Donald and Daisy Duck through a tweet by Scott Gustin on X (formerly Twitter). In the post, Gustin shared a side-by-side comparison of the new Donald and Daisy outfits compared to their concept art:

Disneyland shared a new look at Donald Duck and Daisy Duck’s explorer outfits for Donald’s Tales of Adventure Dinner Buffet – a campfire-style barbecue buffet at Storytellers Cafe at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa.

The Donald’s Tales of Adventure Dinner Buffet will offer an all-you-can-eat menu with various campfire-style foods. Guests will be able to enjoy baby back spareribs, slow-roasted prime rib, fried chicken, creamed corn, a variety of vegetables and salads, and s’mores bread pudding for dessert. The buffet will run from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., providing plenty of time for Disney Park guests to enjoy a relaxed, family-friendly meal while interacting with their favorite characters.

Reservations for Donald’s Tales of Adventure Dinner Buffet are now available through Disneyland Resort’s website. Pricing for this dining experience is $62 per adult (ages 10 and up) and $36 per child (ages 3 to 9). Children under the age of three can attend for free. Please note that tax and gratuity are not included in the listed price.

Disneyland Resort will continue to offer Mickey’s Tales of Adventure Breakfast in the mornings, where guests can enjoy interactions with Mickey and Minnie Mouse. However, Donald and Daisy’s new look will be exclusive to Donald’s Tales of Adventure Dinner Buffet.
