Few TV shows have managed to make an impact as large as Stranger Things. What started as a Netflix original series quickly turned into one of the biggest moments in pop culture, becoming one of the world’s most popular and engrossing television shows of all time.
While complex, Stranger Things‘ story focuses on a small town in Indiana, following the lives of a group of lovable kids as they uncover mysteries and make haunting discoveries. Among the excellent cast are Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, and Millie Bobby Brown, as well as industry veterans David Harbour and Winona Ryder.
Stranger Things debuted in 2016, marking a near-decade-long journey to its fifth and final season, which is currently in the process of shooting.
The series is expected to conclude in an epic way, though not many details about the show’s final season are known. However, Stranger Things recently hit a turning point that will undoubtedly excite fans of the series.
Stranger Things season 5 is now halfway done with filming. This was confirmed by DiscussingFilm, who shared the news on Twitter/X.

Stranger Things‘ fifth and final season has yet to receive an official release date, but the show will undoubtedly dominate the conversation when it finally rolls out on Netflix.
Maya Hawke, who joined the show during season 3, dropped a bombshell about Stranger Things‘ final season, saying that making season 5 is more like making a movie than a TV show.
“It takes a long time to write each season and a long time to shoot them. We’re making basically 8 movies.”
Vecna (Jamie Campbell Bower) claims the final season of Netflix hit Stranger Things is totally “bonkers”, in an interview with Indie Wire. “If you thought last season was nuts, this season is just out of control, wild, like, it’s bonkers. It really, really is. It’s bigger. It’s just completely insane. It’s completely insane.”
“It’s just continually building. It’s been really interesting as well to have the play on in London, which I went to go and see, which goes back to Henry before we met him in Season 4,” Bower said of his character origin story as a prequel to the show. “And to have a lot of the questions or a lot of the thoughts that I had about that character kind of answered by watching the play and also discover more, was really interesting for me.”

Stranger Things season 5 was originally scheduled to begin filming in May 2023, with a target release date of 2024. However, the series production was halted, eventually resuming in January of this year.
It’s unclear how long the last half of season 5 will take to complete, but Stranger Things will likely not wrap up until 2025.
The highly anticipated final season of Netflix’s hit show is expected to delve even deeper into one of the show’s most interesting mysteries: the Upside Down.
Season 4 offered a glimpse into the Upside Down’s chilling past, showing its identical state to Hawkins on the same day Eleven breached the barrier.
The entire Stranger Things storyline has been worked out from the beginning, with the Duffer brothers, the series’ creators, sharing insight into the final season.
As Ross Duffer stated, “Season 4 Volume 2 primarily avoids delving into the lore of the Upside Down, though we do offer hints. While some astute fans on platforms like Reddit might be able to piece together certain elements, Season 5 serves as the true exploration of the Upside Down’s enigmatic nature.”
