Less than a year after welcoming its first guests, Epic Universe is already taking steps to refresh one of its most family-friendly attractions.

Yoshi’s Adventure, located inside Super Nintendo World, will temporarily close starting February 24, 2026. The ride is expected to reopen on February 27. While the closure is brief, it’s still significant for a park that only opened in May 2025.

Yoshi’s Adventure isn’t the flashiest ride at Epic Universe. It doesn’t launch. It doesn’t flip. It doesn’t tower over the skyline. Instead, it quietly delivers something just as important — a gentle, elevated tour through the Mushroom Kingdom that appeals to younger guests and those looking for a break from high-intensity thrills.
Because of that, it fills an important gap in the park’s lineup.
Temporary refurbishments this early into a park’s life cycle can raise eyebrows, but they’re far from unusual. In fact, the first year of operations is when attractions often receive early tune-ups. Ride systems are exposed to real-world conditions. Florida’s heat and humidity accelerate wear. Heavy daily capacity pushes components harder than pre-opening testing ever could.

Rather than waiting for something to go wrong, parks often choose to proactively close an attraction for short maintenance windows. A few days offline now can prevent extended closures later.
It’s also worth noting that short refurbishments are easier to schedule before peak travel seasons. With spring break on the horizon, Universal may be taking advantage of a quieter window to complete necessary adjustments.
For most guests, this closure will barely register. Three days passes quickly, especially at a park the size of Epic Universe. But for families planning a trip specifically to experience SUPER NINTENDO WORLD’s gentler offerings, it’s a reminder to double-check ride calendars before arrival.

Ultimately, this brief refurbishment says less about problems and more about upkeep.
Epic Universe launched with enormous ambition. Maintaining that ambition requires ongoing attention. Yoshi’s Adventure stepping aside for a few days may not make headlines for long — but it’s part of the reality of operating a brand-new, highly detailed theme park.
Sometimes, keeping things running smoothly means pressing pause for just a moment.
