Walt Disney World Resort is home to six dazzling theme parks that attract millions of visitors annually. Each park is unique and caters to a specific type of crowd, making each vacation customizable for Disney’s customers. Whether you’re looking for a relaxing, adult-friendly trip or a wild and rip-roaring theme park adventure, Disney has you covered.

However, Disney is soon taking such theme park destinations off the table. Known as Walt Disney World’s least popular theme park on the property based on annual attendance, this location will close its doors beginning on March 17, 2024.

A WDW Closure

Blizzard Beach, one of the most exhilarating water parks in Disney World, is indefinitely closing its gates for a period of renovations. While this closure may disappoint some eager guests, the promise of enhanced attractions and improved facilities is sure to make the wait worthwhile. As the iconic water park undergoes a transformation, visitors can look forward to a renewed sense of magic and adventure upon its reopening.

Blizzard Beach is a popular water park located within the Walt Disney World Resort complex, known for its thrilling attractions and whimsical atmosphere. This park, inspired by the concept of a melting ski resort, features Mount Gushmore as its iconic centerpiece. At the summit of Mount Gushmore is Summit Plummet, a jaw-dropping water slide that offers an exhilarating experience for thrill-seekers.

The renovations at Blizzard Beach aim to elevate the guest experience to new heights, ensuring that every thrill-seeker and water enthusiast is in for a treat when they return. With improvements planned across various areas of the park, from thrilling water slides to relaxing lazy rivers, Blizzard Beach is set to emerge as an even more captivating destination within the Walt Disney World Resort.

What Is to Come for the Beach?

Blizzard Beach stands out not only for its thrilling attractions but also for its attention to detail and immersive storytelling, making it a must-visit destination within the Walt Disney World Resort complex. The park raked in 1,983,000 visitors in 2019, which is a solid number but a far cry from Typhoon Lagoon’s 2,248,000 visitors that year. Despite being the third most popular water park in the world, Blizzard Beach cannot compare to other WDW parks like Magic Kingdom Park and EPCOT.

Regardless, this theme park will be missed. With attractions like Mount Gusmore, Summit Plummet, the Downhill Double Dipper, and the lazy river, this Disney World Water park has so much to offer. With its unique blend of excitement, relaxation, and themed experiences, this water park continues to delight guests of all ages and interests, cementing its reputation as one of the premier water parks in the world.
