There’s a Baby Zebra at Animal Kingdom Lodge and We Can’t Handle the Cuteness

Stop scrolling, because this is important. There’s a brand-new baby zebra at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, and she just made her very first public appearance. And yes, she’s as cute as you’re imagining.

If you’re staying at the resort soon, or even just stopping by, you need to add this to your plans. Trust us.

Meet the Newest Savanna Star

Disney already announced that a zebra named Aziza gave birth to a healthy baby girl at Animal Kingdom Lodge. And now, the little one is finally out and about on the Arusha Savanna.

She’s been spotted wandering around the grassy savanna, showing off those perfect black-and-white stripes. Every now and then, she lowers her head toward the grass like she’s checking everything out. Very curious. Very adorable.

And she’s a total mama’s girl. She stays super close to Aziza and keeps going back to her side as they walk around together. We can’t.

Wait, What’s Her Name?

That’s the thing. She doesn’t have one yet. At least, not publicly. So for now, she’s just the cutest unnamed zebra at Walt Disney World. We’ll be keeping an eye out for a name announcement.

Where to Find Her

You’ll want to head to the Arusha Savanna, which is right next to Jambo House and the guest wings attached to it.

You can check her out from the resort’s savanna viewing areas. And if you’re lucky enough to have a room with an Arusha Savanna view, you might be able to spot her right from your balcony. Morning coffee with a baby zebra? Dream vacation.

Not Staying There? You Can Still Visit

Good news if you’re not a hotel guest. You can still swing by and see the animals, and making a dining reservation at one of the resort’s restaurants is an easy way to plan it. Eat, then go zebra-watching. Perfect day.

Just a heads up on getting there. Since June 28, buses from Disney Springs to the resorts are only for hotel guests and people with dining or experience reservations. So plan your ride ahead of time.

Why We Love Animal Kingdom Lodge

If you’ve never been, Animal Kingdom Lodge is honestly one of the coolest resorts at Disney World. It’s shaped like a horseshoe, inspired by a traditional African kraal, and it looks out over four big savannas.

Those savannas are home to more than 200 hoofed animals and birds, with over 30 species of African wildlife. We’re talking zebras, giraffes, gazelles, kudu, and flamingos. Plus, the resort has one of the largest collections of African art in the United States.

There’s also an 11,000-square-foot pool with a waterslide and a zero-depth entry that’s designed to feel like a natural watering hole. And the food? Award-winning restaurants with African-inspired dishes and American favorites. Yeah, it’s a vibe.

Baby Animal Season Is Real

The zebra foal isn’t the only new baby at Disney World right now. Four critically endangered Jamaican iguanas recently hatched at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Ankole calf Raisin made his debut on Kilimanjaro Safaris. And three nyala calves were born right at Animal Kingdom Lodge too.

Oh, and Disney says Alika, a colobus monkey at Animal Kingdom, is expecting her first baby. So basically, it’s baby animal central over there.

Our Tips

Head straight to the Arusha Savanna near Jambo House. Look for Aziza first, because the baby is never far away. Be patient, since animals wander. Bring binoculars if you have them. And if your room faces the savanna, keep checking that balcony.

Go Say Hi

We know Disney trips are busy, and it’s tempting to rush off to the parks. But seeing a baby zebra explore her new home for the first time? That’s a once-in-a-lifetime kind of moment.

So slow down, grab a spot by the savanna, and enjoy the cuteness.
