Universal Orlando Resort’s brand-new theme park, Epic Universe, is opening to the public on May 22, 2025. This highly anticipated expansion brings five immersive lands to life and is expected to draw major crowds from day one. For guests who want to navigate the park efficiently, understanding how Single Rider lines work is essential.

Epic Universe will offer Single Rider access on several major attractions. These currently include Mine-Cart Madness, Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment, Curse of the Werewolf, Hiccup’s Wing Gliders, Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge, and Stardust Racers. These lines are designed to help fill gaps in ride vehicles and can sometimes offer shorter waits than standby queues. However, Single Rider availability can change at any time during the day depending on operational needs and crowd levels.
It’s important to note that the Single Rider experience comes with tradeoffs. Riders are typically placed wherever space is available and will not be seated with their party. You also won’t be able to choose your seat, and your wait time may vary depending on how efficiently vehicles are being loaded.

Another key detail is that you may bypass themed sections of the queue when using the Single Rider line. For attractions with detailed storytelling and immersive queue elements, this may impact the overall experience.
If you're visiting with younger children or guests who prefer not to ride alone, Single Rider might not be ideal. But for solo visitors or adults comfortable splitting up temporarily, it’s a useful option — especially during peak times.

Guests can also take advantage of Epic Universe preview access starting April 17, 2025. This opportunity is available for select groups, including Universal Passholders, Military Freedom ticket holders, and Universal Rewards Visa cardholders. Preview tickets are limited and may not include access to all rides and experiences.
Whether you’re attending during the preview period or on opening day, it helps to arrive informed and prepared. Single Rider can be a great strategy, but it’s not one-size-fits-all. Consider your group’s needs and what kind of experience you’re hoping for — and enjoy everything this incredible new park has to offer.
