Top 10 Reasons Why We Love The Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique

A magical thing happened at Disney World that changed life for little princesses forever! Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique opened in the World of Disney Store at what was Downtown Disney (now “Disney Springs”). Little girls can not only meet princesses face-to-face, but they can become them too! Since then, the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique has expanded and improved, now offering multiple locations and even more magical experiences.

The Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique is a magical sort of beauty salon owned by Cinderella’s Fairy Godmother, where girls aged 3 to 12 receive a magical makeover from a fairy godmother-in-training and are transformed into the princess of their choice. With the ultimate Castle package, the little princess is able to select the princess outfit of her choice, including wand and crown, and have her hair, makeup and nails done in princess fashion. Her Fairy Godmother then casts a spell, sprinkles her in pixie dust, and she is transformed into royalty herself!

What could be more magical than this? Not much! The Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique is a wonderful experience and a must-do for little girls! Here are 10 reasons why you’ll want to make it part of your magical vacation!

10. Something for Little Siblings Too:

For liability reasons, children must be at least 3 years old to receive the royal treatment. (If they’re under 3, there’s a risk they can fall out of the chair). However, if you dread risking the wrath of your 2 year old while she sits and watches her older sister have the most magical experience of her young life, don’t worry. You can always dress your younger one up in her own princess dress and the fairy godmothers will sprinkle her with pixie dust too and sometimes do a little pony tail or bun. That way she’ll still feel that she took part.

9. Something for Young Knights As Well:

Little princesses often have brothers who want to be just like them too! Disney does not disappoint these young gentlemen! Young boys can receive the Knight package, which includes hair styling with colored hair gel, confetti and a mighty sword and shield. This package is only $19.95, which is a fraction of the price of the package for a little princess.

8. Experience for the Whole Family:

Obviously parents want to be able to be there to witness their little ones having such a magical experience. There is seating in front of each makeover station, so that family members can sit and watch. Even though it can get quite crowded, Disney does not limit the number of observers. The princess can bring her whole royal court!

7. So Many Choices – Costumes:

Your little girl can be any princess that she would like. The Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique is stocked with dresses for all of the most popular princesses, but you’re free to bring your own dress too. Some people bring less expensive versions of the traditional princess dresses that they have purchased elsewhere and you’ll also see girls in fancy dresses that are not princess-related at all. Everyone receives the royal treatment just the same!

6. So Many Choices – Packages:

Of course, not everyone wants the same thing. One year’s little princess may totally shun all things princess the next year, but she still might enjoy having the makeover and getting a t-shirt and tutu. There are a range of packages from the Crown package, which is just the hairstyle, makeup and nails, to the Castle package, which includes the full makeover with princess outfit, crown and wand. Naturally there’s also quite a range in price! There’s also a choice of three different hairstyles and of course, specific Frozen packages.

5. Memory Maker PhotoPass:

For an additional price, you can add on a photo package, which includes the digital images which will be uploaded to your Photopass if you purchased one. All photos are taken by Photopass photographers in a private Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique studio, with custom backgrounds and props. These make wonderful mementos! Photopass photographers also photograph the entire makeover experience, so it’s worth it to purchase a Photopass so that you’ll have these memories always. Of course, you’re free to take your own pictures as well of the makeover, but you won’t get the studio session unless you specifically purchase the additional package.

4. More Locations Means More Happy Little Girls:

The first Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique opened at Disney World in what was then the Downtown Disney area and is now part of Disney Springs. Since then, it has expanded to Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line and to the ultimate location – right in Cinderella’s Castle. The Disney Springs location has recently moved from the very busy World of Disney Store, to its own specially designed location. With all of this expansion, the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique experience has improved over time, now offering more choices, better photo opportunities and a more immersive experience for little princesses to experience a true royal transformation! This also means more opportunities for little girls to have this magical experience, as not everyone books everything 6 months in advance!

3. Totally Immersive Atmosphere:

Going to the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique is such a wonderful experience because it is so real! As is the Disney way, everything is so carefully designed, and the fairy godmothers-in-training are so in character, that a little girl will feel that she really is being turned into royalty!

2. Royal Perks:

When Disney Cast Members see a little girl dressed as a princess, they automatically address her as Princess or Queen (if she is dressed as Elsa). Many will stand aside to let her pass and offer other special treatment. Similarly, princesses at princess meet-and-greets will have special discussions about the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique with the newly transformed little princess, lending more magic to the experience. Disney does not miss a detail in creating an immersive experience!

1. Memories to Last a Lifetime:

Going to Disney World has become a rite of passage in the American culture and people’s expectations for their Disney vacation are extraordinarily high. Everyone wants to give their family those special family memories that they will treasure forever. Well for a young girl, the memory of this magical transformation will stay with her forever, as it will with the parents who witness her experiencing this magical transformation – and that is priceless!

One last thing – as a Disney vacation planner, I recommend booking your reservation at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique (Cinderella’s Castle location) on the morning of the first day if you can, and then following that up with a reservation for breakfast or lunch at Cinderella’s Castle, right across the courtyard. Here, she’ll meet Cinderella, right there in her castle, and then be greeted by 4 other princesses while dining on a royal feast overlooking Magic Kingdom. Your little princess will be in heaven! She’ll also have her new dress to wear for the whole trip and all the cast members will make a fuss over her as she strolls through the parks. You’ve set the tone for a great vacation at the outset this way! You’ll need to do this way in advance though, so make those reservations as soon as the reservation window opens!
