After Just 7 Years, Disney World Changes Toy Story Land

Construction crews are finalizing modifications to the entrance sign for Toy Story Mania! at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, altering elements installed when Toy Story Land opened in 2018. This is just one of several recent updates to the seven-year-old theme park land.

Walt Disney World Resort has been refreshing the Toy Story Mania! entrance since mid-December 2025. The arch-shaped sign was originally installed when Disney rerouted the attraction queue for Toy Story Land’s 2018 opening. Toy Story Mania! itself opened in 2008 as part of Pixar Place before being incorporated into the new land.

As of Thursday, January 22, the checkerboard-pattern background behind the 3-D “Toy Story Mania!” lettering has been removed. WDWNT reported that the entire back layer—including circus-tent details and the yellow flag—has been covered with blank white paint or primer, potentially preparing the surface for repainting.

Walt Disney World Resort hasn’t disclosed the project’s scope or completion timeline. Toy Story Mania! remains operational during construction.

New Snack Location Opens

Disney’s Hollywood Studios surprised guests in January by opening a brand-new snack kiosk in Toy Story Land. Mystery construction near the Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge entrance began last year, with permits suggesting a Quick-Service dining location was planned. Walt Disney World Resort didn’t confirm the project until the kiosk opened this month.

The popcorn box-shaped structure, simply called Popcorn and Snacks, serves standard Walt Disney World Resort snacks, plus exclusive Pepperoni Pizza Spring Rolls. New benches between Toy Story Land and Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge provide seating for guests enjoying afternoon treats.
