‘Turning Red’ Arrives at Disney Parks & Disney Cruise Line

Disney and Pixar’s Turning Red will begin streaming on Disney+ beginning March 11, 2022. Ahead of the film’s streaming release, Disney Parks and Disney Cruise Line are offering special menu items, merchandise, and sneak peeks at the latest Disney coming of age story.

Sneak Peaks

Guests visiting both Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disney Cruise Line will be treated to sneak peeks of the latest Disney animated film. At Disney’s Hollywood Studios, never-before-seen clips of the film are currently being shown in the theatre at the end of the Walt Disney Presents attraction. And, for Guests setting sail soon with Disney Cruise Line, a sneak peek at the film is available on select sailings aboard the Disney Magic, Disney Fantasy, Disney Dream and Disney Wonder beginning today.

Special Menu Items

At Walt Disney World, Guests can find new menu items inspired by Turning Red at select parks and Disney Springs. While exploring Disney Springs, stop at Amorette’s for the Turning Red Mini Dome Cake. This sweet treat is based on the Canadian dessert known as the Nanaimo Bar with layers of chocolate brownie, coconut, nuts, vanilla custard, and semi-sweet chocolate. It’s available at Amorettes through March 31, 2022.

EPCOT has a couple of unique snack items added especially for the film, including the Pand-Ade from the Canada Popcorn cart! Available March 1-May 31, 2022, this tasty drink is a coconut-pomegranate lemonade with pomegranate boba.

For table service options inspired by Turning Red, Le Cellier Steakhouse also located in the Canada pavilion of World Showcase, has a couple of options. The first is a beef stir-fry poutine, made with fresh-cut fries, Canadian cheddar cheese, beef, and gravy with Asian flavors.

The restaurant is also serving up shrimp and pork dumplings, with pickled cucumber, sesame-soy drizzle and crispy noodles. And, for dessert, the Turning Red Cake features a citrus and vanilla chiffon cake with raspberry coulis and fresh strawberries. All of the new items from Le Cellier Steakhouse are available through May 31, 2022.

Heading to the Disneyland Resort? Disney California Adventure Park is celebrating Turning Red with an exclusive photo op from the film. The photo op can be found right near the Silly Symphony Swings- Be sure to check it out during your visit!

Turning Red tells the story of Mei Lee, a 13-year-old stuck between the pulls of her family and the chaos of her teen years. The film follows her awkward years and navigating her relationship with her mother all the while Mei Lee “turns red” aka into a giant red panda anytime she becomes excited.

The film is directed by Academy Award-winner Domee Shi, known for working on the Pixar short Bao, and it is produced by Lindsey Collins. Turning Red premieres on streaming on Disney+ on March 11, 2022.
