Trespassing and Violence Draw Police to Magic Kingdom Area on December 2

The first week of December brought an unusual pair of incidents to the Magic Kingdom Resort Area, prompting police response twice within a few hours. Both emergencies occurred on December 2 and resulted in deputies arriving at two different Disney Resort hotels connected to the original Central Florida theme park by Monorail. At this time, it appears that the events were unrelated.

The first call went out shortly before 9:30 a.m. after a report of a trespasser somewhere between Magic Kingdom Park and Disney’s Contemporary Resort. A social media account that tracks police scanner activity around Walt Disney World Resort posted the alert as it happened. From X (formerly known as Twitter) user @WDWActiveCrime:

Authorities did not specify the exact location of the individual, leaving open the possibility that the situation occurred on the walking path or along the Monorail route that connects the two properties. The term “trespasser” can refer to a guest who violated Resort rules and requires a trespass notice, or to someone who had already been banned from the property attempting to return.

Orange County Sheriff’s Department deputies responded to evaluate the situation, though additional details about the encounter have not been released.

Reports from the Orange County Sheriff’s Department take time to become public, and not every call is released. Because of this, updates connected to either of the December 2 incidents may not appear immediately. Information related to private medical details will not be disclosed at any time.

Despite the heightened attention these two alerts received, Walt Disney World Resort continues to operate all four theme parks and its Resort hotels normally. Neither Disney nor law enforcement has issued warnings for guests visiting the Magic Kingdom Resort Area.

Guests who encounter emergency personnel during their visit are encouraged to follow directions from deputies and Disney cast members. Temporary adjustments to pathways or access routes may occur to ensure safety and minimize disruptions to the guest experience.
