A small operational change at Universal Studios Florida is getting plenty of attention from theme park fans.
Revenge of the Mummy has started using an outdoor extended queue, meaning some guests now begin their wait outside the attraction before entering the building. While Universal hasn't announced why the adjustment was made, many longtime visitors believe it's connected to preparations for Halloween Horror Nights.

For those familiar with the event, the timing makes perfect sense.
An Early Sign of Halloween Season
Every year, Universal Studios Florida undergoes an incredible transformation as Halloween Horror Nights approaches.
Most of that work happens overnight or behind construction walls, so guests rarely get a glimpse at what's happening backstage. Occasionally, though, changes become impossible to miss.
That's exactly what's happening at Revenge of the Mummy.
Photos shared online show temporary tents and outdoor queue rails now being used to accommodate guests. Fans immediately recognized the setup because similar changes have happened before while Universal prepared the nearby Halloween Horror Nights Tribute Store.

Although the resort hasn't officially linked the two, many experienced visitors believe history is repeating itself.
One of Universal's Most Popular Attractions
Revenge of the Mummy remains one of the biggest draws at Universal Studios Florida.
Since debuting in 2004, the attraction has earned a loyal following thanks to its mix of storytelling, dark ride scenes, practical effects, sudden launches, and indoor roller coaster thrills.
Unlike many newer attractions, the experience relies heavily on physical sets and effects, giving it a unique feel that continues attracting both first-time visitors and longtime fans.

Because the attraction remains so popular, Universal appears to be keeping it fully operational while making room for whatever seasonal work is taking place nearby.
That means guests can still enjoy the ride without interruption, even if the line now starts outdoors.
What This Means for Guests
If you're visiting Universal Studios Florida over the next several weeks, it's worth preparing for a slightly different queue experience.
Depending on crowd levels, your wait for Revenge of the Mummy could begin beneath temporary covered tents outside the attraction entrance before moving indoors.
With Florida's summer temperatures remaining high, staying hydrated and taking advantage of shade throughout the day becomes even more important.
The ride itself hasn't changed, so once guests enter the attraction building, they'll experience the same adventure they've come to expect.
Halloween Horror Nights Is Almost Here
Halloween Horror Nights is one of Universal Orlando's signature events, attracting fans from around the world every fall.
In addition to haunted houses and scare zones, the event features exclusive entertainment, seasonal food, themed merchandise, and the ever-popular Tribute Store.

Building an event of that scale takes months of planning, which is why construction activity begins well before opening night.
The new outdoor queue at Revenge of the Mummy may seem like a minor operational adjustment, but it has become one of the strongest clues that Halloween preparations are accelerating behind the scenes.
As summer continues, guests should expect more visible signs that Universal Studios Florida is getting ready for another Halloween Horror Nights season.
