The Universal Orlando Resort is filled to the brim with fun and magical experiences, ranging from thrilling roller coasters like Jurassic World and VelociCoaster to cult-classic attractions like E.T. Adventure. The theme park is arguably one of the most cherished and historic in the country, competing against and even outperforming other industry giants such as Walt Disney World, which resides just a few miles away in Florida.

The resort is comprised of three main components: Universal Studios Florida, Universal’s Islands of Adventure, and Universal CityWalk. The two theme parks provide thrills and chills to guests, while Universal CityWalk offers guests a more relaxed and entertainment-focused experience similar to Downtown Disney at Disneyland or Disney Springs in Walt Disney World.

From shopping to dining, there are a lot of things to be done (and money to be spent) at Universal CityWalk, but unfortunately, shopping just got a bit harder with Universal discontinuing a popular and useful service.

Universal Orlando used to offer a complimentary package pick-up service to guests visiting the parks. This location eventually found its way into the Universal Studios Store in CityWalk, providing guests a convenient way to purchase things at the park and pick them up at the end of their day. However, this has all changed, with package pick-up services no longer being offered for day guests.

The Universal Orlando Resort still offers hotel delivery service as well as a paid shipping service, but this complimentary method is no longer an option for day guests.

Walt Disney World has a similar process, allowing guests to purchase a variety of trinkets and souvenirs throughout the day and then pick them up at the end of their trip or have the items delivered to their hotel room.

Over the years, the Universal Orlando Resort has only become better, with new rides, attractions, restaurants, stores, and locations popping up for guests to get lost in. This is true for all Universal Studios theme parks, though it’s especially true for Universal Orlando, which is currently in the middle of constructing its soon-to-be third theme park known as Epic Universe.

This new theme park will be one of Universal’s largest projects ever, taking several years to complete. But once finished, Epic Universe will be one of the most impressive and captivating theme park experiences ever. Epic Universe will debut in 2025, and along with it will come several new stunning lands for guests to explore, ranging from worlds inspired by Super Mario to Harry Potter.

What do you think about Universal discontinuing this service? Did you ever use it during your stay?

About Luke Dammann

When at Disney world, Luke will probably be found eating with his favorite animatronic, Sonny Eclipse at Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe. When not at Disney World, Luke will probably be found defending Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe to people who claim "there are better restaurants"
