The Disneyland Hotel is home to some of the most immersive themed suites of any Disney resort. Disney recently took to TikTok to share a video of the Frontierland-inspired accommodations, and the suite certainly lives up to its namesake attraction, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.

Take a quick tour of the suite in this video from Disney Parks’ official TikTok account:

The Big Thunder Suite opened to guests in 2010 when the hotel was just unveiling a “suite” of new accommodations inspired by different areas of the theme parks, including a Fairy Tale Suite, Adventureland Suite, Mickey Mouse Penthouse, and Pirates of the Caribbean Suite among others.  All of the suites at the Disneyland Hotel are located high up on the 11th floor, so in addition to all of the immersive details and amenities, each one offers incredible views of the Disneyland Resort.

The Big Thunder Suite features a doorbell that sets off the sound of howling wolves that can be heard from the main areas of the suite. By the entrance to the room, guests will find themselves in a mine-shaft-inspired foyer that looks like it is straight out of the Frontierland attraction (especially with the extra sets of buttons built into the walls that come with sound effects from the ride!)

From there, you can talk into the main living and dining area, both crafted with wood repurposed from a Midwestern barn to make up flooring and paneling. The living space also includes a stone-hearth fireplace among antique tools, many of which are authentic to the mid 19th century.

In the dining space, the table seats eight beneath a wagon-wheel chandelier, and guests can spot a “living” portrait of a miner that actually changes throughout the day.

All of the theming continues through to the bedrooms, with the master bedroom made up of a king-sized bed, an exclusive sitting area, and a gorgeous headboard featuring wooden paneling, brown leather, and exposed bracket-work.

Lastly, the suite’s master bath follows the theme with a sliding barn door, and a copper tub set against a stonewall. The room’s steam shower is another noteworthy amenity in this space, and Disney Imagineers were clever to conceal a TV behind the mirror over the sinks.
