A peaceful boat ride turned tense for one family at Disneyland Resort when a cell phone plunged from the bridge overhead and landed just short of a little girl. A travel blogger's video of the scare has since collected thousands of likes and a fair amount of pushback.
From Singing Along to Scrambling

Jennifer Tzi, the creator behind the family travel blog Multigenerational Family Travel (@multigenerationalfamily_travel on Instagram), visited Disneyland Park earlier this year with her children. Partway through the outdoor stretch of “it's a small world,” also known as the Happiest Cruise on Earth, a phone dropped from the bridge above the boats and nearly hit her daughter in the head.
She shared a video of the experience on April 26, likening it to a moment from the Final Destination (2000) film franchise.

“We were on ‘it's a small world' just enjoying the ride when suddenly a phone came flying down from above and almost hit my child,” Tzi wrote. “Went from singing along to a full-on Final Destination moment real quick.”

Her daughter wasn't hurt. The phone's owner probably wasn't as lucky, since the device almost certainly ended up soaked in the “it's a small world” ride water.

Tzi turned the incident into a reminder for other Disney Park guests.
“PSA: secure your phones, please 🙏,” she wrote. “This ride didn't need a plot twist 😅.”
Is the Reaction Fair?
The video has more than 17,000 likes, and the comments reveal a split audience. Some thought Tzi was making too much of a near miss.

“Wow I feel bad for the person who lost [their] phone,” @karlee_elaine28 wrote. “That was not a final destination scene.”
“Final destination scene' and the worst outcome is a headache,” said @robotic_jay.
Other viewers backed her up, pointing the finger at whoever let go of the phone and recalling their own run-ins with things flying at them in the parks.

“I was hit in the head with some kind of ball on a roller coaster, it was pretty painful…” @mrsdaniellecraig commented.
“Someone spit on us from the top of space mountain and we were just strapped in!” @billingtonsbride recalled. “We told the worker and they said the would look to see who did it and kick them out! It was gross!”
Items held over a bridge, ledge, or railing at a Disney park can land on people below (or simply get lost). Keeping phones tucked in a pocket, in a bag, or on a secured strap, especially near attractions, helps prevent a repeat of this incident on “it's a small world.”
