If you’re a collector of the Minnie Mouse: The Main Attraction collection, chances are you’ve had a frustrating morning trying to snag newly released items. shopDisney implemented a “Virtual Waiting Room”, but did it work for you?
Minnie Mouse: The Main Attraction is currently on Series 9: Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. shopDisney released this extremely popular merchandise via MerchPass on September 15. Some were selected in this lottery system while others weren’t so lucky. After the MerchPass wrapped up for Series 9, shopDisney announced they would release more of the merchandise at 7am PT today, September 23. Upon signing in to shopDisney five minutes before the official release time, we were sent to a “Virtual Waiting Room”.
The page refreshes automatically with the message: “Welcome to our Virtual Waiting Room! Please don’t refresh or click back. In an effort to make our Guests’ experiences a positive one, shopDisney.com has created an online waiting room. When it’s your turn, the page will automatically load, and then you’ll have 10 minutes to shop and add items to your bag. You may see this waiting room again if you try to access the page again later. Thanks very much for your patience, and have a magical day.”

We waited for about 15 minutes when the page updated and sent us to the shopDisney landing page. We went to the Main Attraction merchandise and to our excitement saw all five items listed! Unfortunately, when we went to add any of those five items to our bag we received the message: “You’re not the only one with great taste. This item is currently out of stock.”
Meanwhile, a friend of ours got in roughly 5 minutes before us. She too was seeing the same message. She kept clicking “Add to Bag” and was eventually able to snag one item and checked out before it was dropped from her bag! And while the Virtual Waiting Room page said she only had 10 minutes to shop, she was able to continue to stay on shopDisney with no problem.
The next round of Minnie Mouse: The Main Attraction is Series 10: The Haunted Mansion. The Merch Pass for these items opens on October 13 at 7AM PT.
