Walt Disney World Recognized as Environmental Leader By Keeping 97% of Waste from Going to Landfill

Exciting news out of Walt Disney World! During this “Florida Recylces Week” Disney has announced they have been recognized by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection as an environmental leader in waste diversion!

“It’s Florida Recycles Week and we’re proud to share that the
Florida Department of Environmental Protection has recognized Walt Disney World Resort as an environmental leader in waste diversion with awards and praise for our zero-waste facilities and repurposing materials in room refurbishments. These efforts are keeping more than 97% of waste from going to landfill. Thank you to the Disney’s Animals, Science and Environment and Facilities Asset Management Cast for making our state – and our World – a more beautiful place for future generations.”
