Warning: This Disney World Ride Is Leaving Guests Wishing They Never Rode

There’s no shortage of thrill rides at Walt Disney World, but few match the reputation that Mission: SPACE has built over the years. Tucked inside EPCOT’s World Discovery neighborhood, it’s the one ride that strikes fear into the hearts of even the most seasoned theme park fans—and for good reason.

Let’s just get straight to it: this ride has throw-up bags. Right there in the capsule, in full view. And they’re not just for decoration.

Mission: SPACE offers two versions of the attraction: Orange Mission and Green Mission. The Orange side is where the intensity kicks into high gear. It uses a centrifuge to simulate the crushing force of a shuttle launch. Guests are pressed deep into their seats, spinning through space at dizzying speeds. It’s so intense that even Disney warns guests multiple times to consider their health before boarding.

Green Mission is a milder experience. It skips the spinning and focuses more on light motion simulation, gently orbiting Earth instead of hurtling toward Mars. For families or those prone to motion sickness, this is the safer bet—but even the Green side has turned a few stomachs.

Despite the warnings and split options, many guests still walk away from the Orange side feeling miserable. Nausea, dizziness, and general queasiness are common. And let’s be honest—when a ride requires that many disclaimers and health warnings, you know it’s not just “thrilling.” It’s a full-body experience.

Disney fan forums are full of reviews from people who say they’ll never ride again. Some did it once out of curiosity, others because they didn’t realize what they were getting into. Either way, it’s the kind of ride that leaves a lasting impression—and not always a good one.

If you’re building your EPCOT must-do list, just know that Mission: SPACE is the one attraction where it might be better to say, “maybe next time.”
