What You Must Know When Dining at Walt Disney World

4. Understand the Dining Plan Credit System

If you buy into the plan, you will pay one set price and be allotted a number of credits. Depending on the type of plan, you will receive credits specifically for snacks, quick service meals, and table service restaurants. (Please note, some of the fancier table service restaurants and character meals may cost additional credits.) Points can be carried over to other days, but they must be used up before the end of your trip. Now, you may be wondering what to do if you don’t use every credit. There are options! You can exchange a quick service meal credit for three snacks. (Many folks like to load their suitcases up with Mickey rice kripsie treats before going home!) Some cast members may allow you to substitute unused table service credits for other meals too, but this is at their discretion. Regardless, you can be assured that Disney will do their best to help you utilize all credits.
