Early Tuesday morning, emergency responders were called to a roadway outside Magic Kingdom Park at Walt Disney World Resort after reports of a reckless driver traveling the wrong way. Here's everything we know about this law enforcement response at the original Central Florida Disney park.
Reckless Wrong-Way Driver Near the Magic Kingdom
At 5:56 a.m. on September 29, the Orange County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call about what reports later described as a “reckless driver wrong-way” at the intersection of N World Drive and Timberline Drive, a major roadway near the Transportation & Ticket Center and Magic Kingdom Park.

In most cases, the pinned location on Google Maps screenshots posted by @WDWActiveCrime reflects generic addresses for Central Florida Disney parks, hotels, and other guest areas, rather than the exact coordinates from which a 911 call originated. However, in this case, the scanner report provided an exact intersection where the reckless wrong-way driver was spotted, so the location is more accurate.
It's unclear if the driver was apprehended or if criminal charges were filed. Still, there does not appear to have been a major collision or other traffic disruption following this incident early Tuesday morning. Luckily, Magic Kingdom Park had yet to open, and most guests were still asleep in their hotel beds.
More information about the driver's identity may emerge if a police report is released or criminal charges are filed. Walt Disney World Resort is unlikely to comment publicly on this incident.
A few hours after this incident, the westbound lanes of I-4 were closed due to a collision, affecting travelers headed to the Walt Disney World Resort. However, this doesn't appear to be related to Tuesday morning's report of a reckless wrong-way driver near the Magic Kingdom.
