8. Skyliner Transportation Option
Because Disney World is so big, it’s important that they offer plenty of transportation options to their guests. Luckily, Disney has been very good about this, and by using a wonderful bus system along with the monorail and a fleet of boats, they’ve gotten guests where they need to go for years. Now they will be adding an entirely new transportation option in the form of the Skyliner.
The Skyliner will be an efficient gondola lift ride that will shuttle guests between Hollywood Studios, Epcot, and the surrounding resorts. We don’t know when it will open, but considering construction has already begun, we don’t think it’ll be too terribly long.
9. Disney Riviera Resort
In addition to the aforementioned Star Warshotel, Disney World will also be adding a second new hotel near Hollywood Studios. It’s really too early to tell much about this particular resort, but we do know that it will be a DVC property, meaning the average guest will have to jump through hoops to stay and will likely be better off in the nearby Caribbean Beach Resort, which is receiving huge upgrades.
10. Mysterious New Hotel
Finally, we must mention the mysterious new hotel that we’ve been hearing rumors of. We do believe these rumors to be true, and if they are, Disney will have yet another hotel opening on property in the same area where their beloved and abandoned River Country water park once stood.
This would make for a new Magic Kingdom area resort, which will be a fabulous addition, and the fact that Disney is finally making good use of the land where River Country once stood is definitely a good thing.
