10 Experiences Disney Veterans Adore at the Magic Kingdom

Disney Castle

Growing up, the Magic Kingdom has always been the most joyous and celebratory place on Earth. Even as I have grown older, I still believe that the Magic Kingdom is timeless and beyond comparison. Here are my top 10 Experiences that Disney Veterans Adore at the Magic Kingdom!

1. The Rope Drop

For people who aren’t too fond of mornings, the rope drop may not be the most ideal place to be when starting off a day at the theme park. Yet, for those who have been to Disney for years, the rope drop symbolizes the beginning of an excellent day at the theme park! Better yet, being at the opening of the park allows for guests to experience attractions at little to no wait time.

2. The Castle Picture

When first entering the park and embarking down Main Street, at almost every angle there will be a few tourists taking pictures with the iconic Cinderella castle. Although I have plenty of pictures in front of the castle, a true Disney veteran can never have too many!

3. Pirates of the Caribbean

This attraction is a Disney classic that certainly can’t be missed. Guests of all ages will enjoy seeing the classic Pirates of the Caribbean movies come to life, particularly Johnny Depp!

4. The Haunted Mansion

Yet another Disney classic that all guests will love! I can remember being terrified when I was little going on the Haunted Mansion. Although I am no longer afraid of the less than terrifying ghosts and smiling skeletons, I love revisiting this ride time and time again.

5. The Mountains

Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, and Big Thunder Mountain. Who could possibly go wrong with that? The three Magic Kingdom “mountains” are must-dos for every Disney veteran who loves the thrills.

6. Pictures with Characters

My favorite thing to do when I’m at the park is see how many pictures I can get with different characters! Usually without planning out waiting in line for the pictures, I can take about 3-5 in a day. My personal favorite photo to take is with Mickey Mouse!

7. Turkey Leg

All Disney veterans know the true goodness and delicacy that is the turkey leg. Whenever the time, weather, or hunger-level, a turkey leg is always welcome in my stomach.

8. The Electrical Parade

As a Disney veteran, there is no parade I enjoy more than this nighttime spectacular. Although daytime parades are lovely, there is something extra magical about seeing the twinkling kaleidoscope of colors pass by featuring all my favorite Disney characters! This is a must do for my book!

9. The Fireworks

Although some guests choose to skip out on fireworks to go on certain attractions, I never can. The Fireworks display at the end of the night is what makes spending a day at the Magic Kingdom worthwhile. It provides the icing on the cake, and it is the park’s way of wishing the guests a good night.

10. Purchasing Souvenirs

My shelves are stocked with Disney memorabilia. This is because, as a veteran, I feel the need to commemorate every visit to the theme parks with a memento. I believe that it is important to cherish the time I had on my Disney vacations at the Magic Kingdom, which is why I’m the proud owner of everything from a mosaic mural of Beauty and the Beast to a Minnie Mouse hair clip.
