10 Things They Don’t Tell You About Disney Resort Hotels… But We Will

9.  Extra Special Disney-Themed Rooms

At select Disney Resort Hotels, there are uniquely themed Disney rooms available.  At Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, your family can choose from the following Disney-themed family suites:  “Finding Nemo”, “The Lion King”, “Cars”, or “The Little Mermaid” standard room.  Once you step inside one of these magical rooms, you will feel like you are entering the world of whatever Disney animated movie you have chosen.  They are filled with fantasy and fun.  Another beautifully Disney-themed room is the Princess Tiana Storybook Room located at Disney’s Port Orleans/Riverside Resort Hotel.  Guests are immersed in the beauty of a royal family with all the elegant trimmings, portraits on the walls of Princess Tiana and other Disney Princesses.   The two  large paintings over the beds light up with the flick of a switch.

This is truly a room fit for royalty.  Then, at the Caribbean Beach Resort, you can relive the days of swashbuckling pirates with a room filled with pirate paraphernalia such as ship-shaped beds, hidden treasures, and nautical details that even Captain Jack Sparrow would fee comfortable in.

10. The Magic of Disney

Sometimes when travel agents describe a Walt Disney World vacation, the emphasis is not always on the magic that is Disney and the marvelous benefits of staying on property.  From the moment you arrive at a Disney Resort Hotel, you and your family members are treated like honored guests, with smiles and welcomes all around.  No request is too extreme, and any Disney Hotel staff member will be eager and happy to help you with anything you may need or desire.  I would describe the atmosphere of a Disney Resort Hotel as having been showered with an invisible sprinkling of “Pixie Dust”.

My family and I did not start out on our Walt Disney World vacations years ago by staying at a Walt Disney Resort Hotel, but one year we decided to give it a try.  Needless to say, after that first vacation at a Disney Hotel Resort, we have never stayed off property again.  In fact, we have stayed at the same resort every year.  We love it and it feels like our magical “home away from home”.

Cecilia

I am a working mother of four adult children, 2 granddogs, and one grandcat. I have been a Disney fanatic since 1959, when my parents took my sister and I on a journey across the country to Disneyland. Needless to say, we were thrilled, and this became our vacation destination for the next 10 years. Later, when Walt Disney World was opened, we travelled to Florida and discovered a whole new Disney experience, and WDW became our new vacation destination. Now, our extended family members are all Disney Fanatics and always ready to talk about anything Disney.
