4. June 26, 1985
In the late evening of June 26, 1985, the silver monorail experienced a tire failure that caused a fire which enveloped the rear car. Lacking emergency exits and other safety features at that time, passengers were forced to kick out the windows in order to climb to safety on top of the monorail. They walked down the length of the train to the first monorail car, where fire rescue teams were able to retrieve them. Within three months, emergency panels were installed in all monorails for roof access.
