Just around the corner from Liberty Square, you will find yourselves in the old west, and there are plenty of rides, attractions, shopping and dining to keep you entertained for quite some time.  There are two very popular rides located right next to each other; namely, Splash Mountain, and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.  On Splash Mountain, you step into a hollowed out log for a flume ride into the world of Uncle Remus’ “Song of the South”, with audio animatronic characters, scenery, and music that will cause a lot of laughter and singing along.  There are a couple of small drops, with one gigantic 5-story drop near the end of the ride, which is the reason there is a height restriction.  Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is a rollicking, thundering, thrilling ride on a runaway mine train which darts in and around an old abandoned mine which is about to blow up.  Because it is the “wildest ride in the wilderness”, there is a height restriction, but for those youngsters that just make the height requirement, it is a ride they will want to ride again and again.

I am a working mother of four adult children, 2 granddogs, and one grandcat. I have been a Disney fanatic since 1959, when my parents took my sister and I on a journey across the country to Disneyland. Needless to say, we were thrilled, and this became our vacation destination for the next 10 years. Later, when Walt Disney World was opened, we travelled to Florida and discovered a whole new Disney experience, and WDW became our new vacation destination. Now, our extended family members are all Disney Fanatics and always ready to talk about anything Disney.
