20 Things You Should Do When Planning and Taking a Trip to Walt Disney World

16. Read up and research.

If this will be your first trip to Disney World, be sure to research all that Disney has to offer. Read all you can about the fun you can experience at Disney World, and start to talk with your family about those options. Even if you’ve been several times, you’ll want to refamiliarize yourself with the most magical place on earth and all of the new attractions, shows and experiences that have been added since your last visit.

My first experience with the Magic was in 1988, when my parents surprised my brother and me with a visit to Walt Disney World after a short trip to see friends in Georgia. I still hum the tune played during the Main Street Electrical Parade and remember the feeling of excitement from my very first visit.
