5 Fan-Favorite Resorts on Disney Property

4. Disney’s Port Orleans Resort—Riverside

This beautiful Disney Resort hotel is situated in the Disney Springs area at Walt Disney World, and it has something for every member of the family! Princess Tiana from Disney’s Princess and the Froghelped the hotel staff decorate this gorgeous resort hotel. All the décor in the guest rooms is inspired by rural Louisiana and the bayou. The hotel offers standard rooms that sleep up to five adults or Royal Guest rooms that sleep up to four adults. There’s an elegant feel of southern hospitality at Port Orleans—Riverside. Even the guest rooms are housed inside a large beautiful building that resembles a stately New Orleans mansion from days gone by. If you and the family want to take a swim, you’re in for another treat! Ol’ Man Island at the resort is a 3.5-acre water play area that even includes a huge waterslide that resembles an old saw mill. And while it’s not exactly swimming in the bayou, there’s definitely that rural feel to the area. The Riverside Mill food court is open to hungry guests and offers all types of fare—just take your pick! There’s also a large 35-foot water wheel at the resort and even a working cotton press! Disney doesn’t miss a thing when it comes to making Guests feel like they’re really there.

I am a writer and a Mom to four children and two baby shih-tzus. My first experience with the Magic was in 1988, when my parents surprised my brother and me with a visit to Walt Disney World after a short trip to see friends in Georgia. I still hum the tune played during the Main Street Electrical Parade and remember the feeling of excitement from my very first visit. I introduced my husband to the Magic several years ago, and we take our children to the parks every time we can. No matter how many times I visit Walt Disney World, it seems it’s not enough! The ever-changing experience only gets better with each trip, and I’m thrilled to share the Magic with others, as well as some of the tips and tricks to getting the most out of the Magic with each visit!
