5 Fan-Favorite Resorts on Disney Property

3. Disney’s Wilderness Lodge

Are you a Disney fanatic who also loves our country’s national parks? You’re in luck because Disney’s Fort Wilderness Lodge in the Magic Kingdom area of the Walt Disney World Resort was inspired by lodges in the U.S. National Parks. In fact, thanks to the lush green forests, creeks and even wildlife in the area, you might even forget you’re in Florida. Wilderness Lodge has a warm rustic feel to it, and everyone in your family will no doubt find something to love when you visit! You’ll be able to choose from standard guest rooms, suites, villas, cabins or even campsites. If you choose to book a cabin, you’ll be able to have your pantry stocked by lodge staff before you arrive. And housekeeping even washes your dishes for you. Wow, talk about accommodations! But what Guests seem to like most about Disney’s Wilderness Lodge are the activities offered at the resort. Go for a pony ride, sit under the stars with Chip ‘n’ Dale for a campfire sing-along, take archery lessons and more! There are also charming swimming areas that your whole family will love!

I am a writer and a Mom to four children and two baby shih-tzus. My first experience with the Magic was in 1988, when my parents surprised my brother and me with a visit to Walt Disney World after a short trip to see friends in Georgia. I still hum the tune played during the Main Street Electrical Parade and remember the feeling of excitement from my very first visit. I introduced my husband to the Magic several years ago, and we take our children to the parks every time we can. No matter how many times I visit Walt Disney World, it seems it’s not enough! The ever-changing experience only gets better with each trip, and I’m thrilled to share the Magic with others, as well as some of the tips and tricks to getting the most out of the Magic with each visit!
