7 Dining Experiences Trending Now at Walt Disney World

In addition to the many rides, attractions, live shows and nighttime spectaculars Disney World has to offer, there is also a treasure trove of restaurants for virtually every taste and every budget. Disney’s table-service restaurants offer Guests a chance to sit down and relax while their server brings the magic to their tables. There are over 100 table-service venues from which to choose at the Walt Disney World Resort. Here are a few Disney Dining Experiences that are trending!

1. The Edison – Disney Springs

The Edison is one of the newest hot spots at Disney Springs, and it has also quickly become one of the most popular. Order the Clothesline Candied Bacon as an appetizer—it’s a line with strips of bacon attached to it with clothespins. The Edison Burger is enormous—it’s plenty to share, but one bite and you’ll want to eat the whole thing by yourself! For dessert, try the Lollipop Tree, which is, you guessed it, a “tree” of sorts with holes drilled in its “trunk.” A cheesecake pop rolled in crushed nuts and other goodies is in each hole, and there’s bubble gum-flavored whipped cream for dipping. At night, The Edison showcases different types of entertainment. There’s a live DJ and a dance floor, as well as an aerial contortionist, Burlesque dancers, tap dancers and more. Be sure to check it out on your next visit to Disney Springs!

2. Jiko-The Cooking Place – Animal Kingdom Lodge

Jiko serves up a mix of African, Mediterranean and Indian cuisine. Jiko is known for its use of bold and fragrant spices in its dishes. Enjoy grilled fish, brick oven-fired flat breads, steak, chicken, seafood and vegan and vegetarian dishes. After your meal at Jiko, order the spiced peanut butter mousse for dessert

3. Chef Art Smith’s Homecoming – Disney Springs

Chef Art Smith’s is a place where you’ll find comfort food served in an atmosphere of Southern hospitality. Dine inside where you have a view of the kitchen as your meal is being prepared or sit back and relax on the screened-in porch as you people-watch at Disney Springs. Chef Art Smith’s serves up a scrumptious southern menu. For brunch enjoy such offerings as the Hallelujah Biscuit, house-made doughnuts and Church Lady deviled eggs. At lunch and dinner, you can choose the Art Burger, a shrimp and grits plate, fried chicken and doughnuts and more. These dishes may sound funny, but everything at Chef Art Smith’s Homecoming is delicious!

I am a writer and a Mom to four children and two baby shih-tzus. My first experience with the Magic was in 1988, when my parents surprised my brother and me with a visit to Walt Disney World after a short trip to see friends in Georgia. I still hum the tune played during the Main Street Electrical Parade and remember the feeling of excitement from my very first visit. I introduced my husband to the Magic several years ago, and we take our children to the parks every time we can. No matter how many times I visit Walt Disney World, it seems it’s not enough! The ever-changing experience only gets better with each trip, and I’m thrilled to share the Magic with others, as well as some of the tips and tricks to getting the most out of the Magic with each visit!
