An unexpected emergency recently compelled hundreds of guests to evacuate the Toy Story Mania! attraction at Disney's Hollywood Studios. Reports indicated a chaotic scene as Walt Disney World Resort guests were guided out of the building amid the unfolding emergency response.
Redditor u/sejohnson0408 explained that the entire building was evacuated–not just the ride. “Could see red lights across the walkway in between some buildings down from Round Up Rodeo so someone either had an issue or something went off,” the Disney Park guest recalled.

“If they evacuated the building itself, then it's almost invariably a fire alarm (or an actual fire),” u/SeriousStrokes69 replied.
The social media user was “impressed” with Walt Disney World Resort‘s cast member training for emergencies.
“Really impressed with how fast the cast members and [guests] cooperated,” they added.

Walt Disney World Resort didn't comment publicly on the recent Toy Story Mania! building evacuation. The cause was never revealed.
Role of Emergency Services
At Walt Disney World Resort, the fire department is trained to operate under a strict protocol, responding to any emergency alarms, regardless of the potential cause. This thorough approach ensures that safety is prioritized, even if initial alarms result from false triggers.
The red emergency lights seen during the Toy Story Mania! evacuation does not automatically signify a fire, gas leak, or other emergency; they indicate the need for heightened caution. Guests can take comfort in knowing the park has established protocols to handle varying emergency scenarios.
Current Status of Toy Story Mania!

Walt Disney World Resort never publicly acknowledged the Toy Story Mania! evacuation. However, Disney's Hollywood Studios attraction reopened shortly after the incident and was operating normally at the time of this article's publication.
