Known for its magical experiences, Disney isn’t just about rides and shows. It also hosts several annual events, like the fan-favorite runDisney races. This year, from November 1 to November 3, the resort will transform into a runner’s paradise as participants lace up their shoes for various races, including the 5k, 10k, and the main event—the Wine & Dine Half Marathon.

On November 3, runners will take to Disney World, impacting the EPCOT park’s opening hours. According to the official Walt Disney World website, EPCOT will open one hour later than usual to accommodate the marathon, with Early Theme Park Entry beginning at 9:30 a.m. instead of 8:30 a.m. and regular park hours starting at 10 a.m. instead of the usual 9 a.m.

For those lucky enough to have snagged a spot—since the event is sold out, according to the runDisney website—the half marathon promises to be an unforgettable experience. As the site proudly proclaims, “Anyone can cook. Anyone can run.”

This year’s event is hosted by Chef Remy and Linguini from Ratatouille, offering a playful nod to Disney fans. Participants will race through 13.1 miles of magical scenery and, of course, the finest culinary landscapes, as the race fits perfectly with the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival.

The post-race festivities, however, are where the magic truly begins. Participants in the half marathon, as well as the Two Course Challenge (which includes both the 10k and the half marathon), will gain exclusive access to a Post-Race Party held in EPCOT on November 3.

The party kicks off at 10 p.m., an hour after the park officially closes to regular guests, but Disney is allowing post-race party attendees to enter as early as 5 p.m.—an exciting perk! This extra time gives guests the chance to experience EPCOT’s newer attractions, like Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind and Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana, before the party starts.

As runDisney describes it, “This celebration at the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival includes access to Global Marketplaces, select EPCOT attractions, and live entertainment with a 10 p.m. start time, giving you access to the park after regular operating hours.”

These special Post-Race parties aren’t the first time Disney has offered early access for ticketed events. Similar to Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and Oogie Boogie Bash at Disneyland, Disney provides extra perks for attendees of exclusive events.

The runDisney Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend is a can’t-miss event for Disney fans and runners alike. It combines the thrill of racing with the magic of Disney.

Whether you’re running through EPCOT or indulging in delicious festival offerings, this weekend promises something for everyone.

When he’s not thinking about the Magic Kingdom, Thomas is usually reading a book, becoming desperately obsessed with fictional characters, or baking something delicious (his favorite is chocolate cake -- to bake and to eat). He's a dreamer and grew up on Mulan saving the world, Jim Hawkins soaring through the stars, and Padmé Amidala fighting a Nexu. At the Parks, he loves to ride Everest, stroll down Main Street with an overstuffed pin lanyard around his neck, and eat as many Mickey-shaped ice creams as possible. His favorite character is Han Solo (yes, he did shoot first), and his favorite TV show is Buffy the Vampire Slayer except when it's One Tree Hill. He loves sandy beach walks, forest hikes, and foodie days out in the Big City. Thomas lives in England, UK, with his fiancée, baby, and their dog, a Border Collie called Luna.
