With Jurassic World Rebirth on the horizon, fans of the Jurassic franchise are gearing up for a whole new chapter in the dinosaur saga. Slated for release in 2025, Rebirth promises to take the franchise in “an ingenious new direction” (according to the official synopsis), introducing fresh faces and never-before-seen dino action.
But it’s not just the movie that’s turning heads—there’s also the upcoming game, “Jurassic Park: Survival,” which is expected to offer an immersive experience like no other.
The Jurassic World franchise has always been about evolution, and Rebirth looks set to push that even further. This latest entry will introduce a brand-new cast, including Scarlett Johansson, Jonathan Bailey, and Mahershala Ali, as well as new dinosaurs we’ve never seen before. Gone are the days of familiar faces—Rebirth will be a fresh take on the Jurassic world, with a focus on introducing new challenges and thrilling action sequences.
Rebirth is being described as a soft reboot of the franchise, similar to how Jurassic World re-energized the saga in 2015. Fans can expect more intense action, cutting-edge visual effects, and of course, new dinosaurs. With a darker tone rumored, Rebirth is shaping up to be a film that brings the terror and spectacle of dinosaurs back to the forefront.
But while Rebirth will likely focus on spectacle, “Jurassic Park: Survival” is taking a very different approach. Unlike the bombastic action of the films, the game will be a tense, first-person survival experience set just 24 hours after the events of the original Jurassic Park. Players will step into the shoes of Dr. Maya Joshi, an InGen scientist stranded on Isla Nublar, as she faces a variety of terrifying dinosaurs in a desperate race for survival.
The key difference here is tone. “Survival” will lean heavily into horror, with comparisons already being drawn to the 2014 game “Alien: Isolation” for its tense, atmosphere-driven gameplay. The Jurassic game’s survival mechanics, adaptive AI, and stealth-based strategies will seemingly offer a slower, more methodical approach to escaping the island’s dangers compared to the blockbuster action audiences will see in Rebirth.
“Survival” will also bring players back to the classic locations from the original film while allowing them to explore previously unseen areas of the park. This will no doubt excite long-time fans eager to experience Isla Nublar in a more interactive and personal way, heightening the fear factor as you try to stay one step ahead of the dinosaurs.
While both Jurassic World Rebirth and “Jurassic Park: Survival” will no doubt give us new and exciting dinosaurs, the way they’re being packaged is worlds apart. Rebirth is shaping up to be a more action-packed thriller, with the dinosaurs as both obstacles and set-pieces in a grand spectacle. Expect plenty of close calls, massive battles, and high-stakes chases through dense jungles and cutting-edge facilities. “Survival”, on the other hand, will amp up the tension by putting players face-to-face with dinosaurs in a more personal and terrifying way.
Jurassic World Rebirth is set for theatrical release on July 2, 2025. There's currently no release date for “Jurassic Park: Survival,” however, as shared on the GamingLeaksandRumours subreddit by user Jasonvsfreddyvs, the website FilmAffinity suggests that it will also be arriving sometime next year.
Whether you’re ready to dive into a new cinematic adventure or brave the deadly Isla Nublar in the game, 2025 is shaping up to be an incredible year for Jurassic fans.
