Daisy Ridley, known for her portrayal of Rey in the Star Wars sequel trilogy, has expressed her willingness to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) if the opportunity arises.
The Star Wars fanbase is known for its fervent dedication, and with new projects often comes a divided response.

The sequel trilogy, in particular, saw mixed reactions as it wrapped up the Skywalker Saga. While some fans welcomed the introduction of a new generation of characters, others voiced disappointment in how the beloved legacy characters, such as Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill), were handled. One of the most divisive aspects of the trilogy was Lukeās isolated and seemingly defeated character arc, which led to frustration among long-time fans.
Amid these reactions, the newer stars of the series, including Daisy Ridley, found themselves at the center of criticism. Ridleyās character, Reyāa young orphan from Jakkuāwas both praised and criticized for stepping into the role of a female protagonist in a previously male-dominated franchise, with the Star WarsĀ fandom proving not for the last time that it's extremely resistant to such a thing.

After the polarized reception of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker (2019), it appeared that Ridley might step away from the Star Wars universe. However, in 2023, Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy made a surprise announcement that Ridley would reprise her role as Rey in a solo film focused on her efforts to rebuild the Jedi Order.
Yet, two years later, production on the film has yet to begin, with multiple setbacks causing delays, including a change in screenwriters. Despite this, Ridley has reassured fans that the project is still in the works, expressing confidence in the direction of the story and the talents of new writer, George Nolfi.

Is Daisy Ridley Heading to the Marvel Cinematic Universe?
While waiting for the Star Wars film to take shape, Ridley has revealed that she is open to joining other large-scale franchises.
Promoting her upcoming role in Cleaner, Ridley confirmed her interest in portraying a superhero, whether in the MCU or DC Studios, to Comic Book Resources. “Look, Iām open to loads of stuff,” she said. “I work with this amazing second AD called Matthew Sharp, and he texts me cause he's doing Avengers, and he goes, ‘If they call.' So I was like, ‘If they call, absolutely.'”
She went on to add: “I then, of course, love Batman, love The Penguin. Iām a fan of so many sorts of films. Yeah, Iām open to everything.”

Ridley has previously been suggested by fans as an ideal candidate to portray Jessica Drew, also known as Spider-Woman, in the MCU, a possibility that has gained traction among both fans and Ridley herself. Whether or not this will materialize remains to be seen, but her openness to such opportunities has left the door wide open for future collaborations.
