Minnie Mouse is stepping into the spotlight like never before. This week, Disney Cruise Line unveiled new details about its upcoming vessel, the Disney Destiny, including a bold new look for the 96-year-old animation icon. For nearly a century, Minnie has been known as Mickey Mouse’s counterpart, but on this ship, she’s charting her own course.
As shared by the Disney Parks Blog, the Disney Destiny is designed to immerse guests in “the epic duality of good and evil as the environment transforms throughout the cruise.” This heroes-and-villains-themed ship features a grand hall inspired by Marvel Studios’ Black Panther (2018) and a lounge called The Sanctum, inspired by Doctor Strange (2016). Guests can even expect a special appearance by Loki, who will attempt to claim control of the ship during the voyage.

The Disney Destiny also celebrates classic Disney characters in exciting new ways. Cruella de Vil takes center stage in her own piano lounge, while fan-favorite villains like Dr. Facilier and Maleficent will make appearances throughout the sailing. The Broadway-style show” Disney Hercules “will treat audiences to stunning puppetry and the long-awaited debut of “Shooting Star,” a song originally written for Hercules (1997) by Alan Menken and David Zippel.

Of course, no Disney Cruise would be complete without Mickey and Minnie Mouse. But on the Disney Destiny, Minnie Mouse is striking out on her own with an empowering superhero makeover, debuting a fierce new look exclusive to the ship.

Disney Cruise Line offered fans a first look at Superhero Minnie Mouse, showcasing her dynamic new outfit designed for the Disney Destiny. Journalist Scott Gustin (@scottgustin) also gave fans a closer look on X (formerly known as Twitter), posting:

So far, there’s no confirmation on whether Mickey Mouse will sport a matching superhero style, but Minnie Mouse is clearly taking the lead as a super icon in her own right.

The Disney Destiny sets sail on its maiden voyage on November 20, 2025. Stay tuned to Disney Fanatic for more updates as Disney Cruise Line prepares to launch this exciting new ship and several others planned for the coming years.
