Disney World Raises Prices for Family Activity at EPCOT

Fall festivities are creeping up on Walt Disney World Resort, and this year, EPCOT is kicking things off earlier than ever. While the Central Florida parks continue evolving—with classic attractions closing and fan-favorites reopening with fresh twists—there’s yet another update for guests to take note of: Pluto’s Pumpkin Pursuit is back, and it’s coming with a bit of a price jump.

This Halloween-themed scavenger hunt, beloved by families for its festive fun, is set to begin on September 2, 2025, marking its earliest start yet at EPCOT. As part of the broader “Cool Kid Summer” celebrations unfolding around the resort, this early Halloween rollout sets the stage for a season of pumpkin-spiced magic.

Guests looking to join in the hunt can purchase a game board and stickers for $11.99 plus tax, available while supplies last at Disney Traders, Creations Shop, festival markets, and other select locations throughout the park. Once equipped, participants will scour EPCOT for Disney-themed pumpkins, adding a sticker to their board with each one they find. At the end of the experience—whether you find every pumpkin or just a few—you can redeem your game board at Disney Traders, Gateway Gifts, Creations Shop, or World Traveler for a Halloween-themed keepsake.

But this early start does come with a price: the scavenger hunt has increased in cost by $2 since last year. It now matches the growing price trend seen across Walt Disney World Resort. For comparison, the Remy’s Ratatouille Hide and Squeak Scavenger Hunt during the International Food & Wine Festival has risen by $4 since 2021. These incremental hikes reflect a wider strategy of rising costs for tickets, accommodations, and extras like Lightning Lane.

As always, Disney has posted the official terms for the experience: “Pluto’s Pumpkin Pursuit is subject to cancellation or change without notice including—without limitation—dates and prices,” the website notes. “Game boards available while supplies last. Limit 5 game board purchases per Guest. One surprise per game board. Game board valid for redemption through November 22, 2025, or while supplies last.”

Elsewhere across the parks, the Halloween season is ready to roll. Magic Kingdom will again host Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party on select nights starting August 15, 2025, and themed activities will appear across Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney Springs. Expect pumpkin Mickeys on Main Street, U.S.A., new seasonal merchandise, and an updated Jack Skellington meet and greet.

When he’s not thinking about the Magic Kingdom, Thomas is usually reading a book, becoming desperately obsessed with fictional characters, or baking something delicious (his favorite is chocolate cake -- to bake and to eat). He's a dreamer and grew up on Mulan saving the world, Jim Hawkins soaring through the stars, and Padmé Amidala fighting a Nexu. At the Parks, he loves to ride Everest, stroll down Main Street with an overstuffed pin lanyard around his neck, and eat as many Mickey-shaped ice creams as possible. His favorite character is Han Solo (yes, he did shoot first), and his favorite TV show is Buffy the Vampire Slayer except when it's One Tree Hill. He loves sandy beach walks, forest hikes, and foodie days out in the Big City. Thomas lives in England, UK, with his fiancée, baby, and their dog, a Border Collie called Luna.
