Disney Sneaks In Yet Another Price Hike—This Time It’s at EPCOT

If it feels like everything at Disney World costs a little more these days, that’s because… it does. And now, even one of EPCOT’s most charming and kid-friendly experiences isn’t immune.

Disney has quietly raised the price of its popular festival scavenger hunts at EPCOT, starting with Remy’s Ratatouille Hide & Squeak at the 2025 Food & Wine Festival. The price is now $11.99 plus tax, up from $9.99.

It’s the kind of change that can catch families off guard. There was no big fanfare—just a quiet update as the new festival details rolled out. But for those visiting EPCOT with kids this year, it’s one more price bump to be aware of.

A Small Game with a Growing Price Tag

These scavenger hunts have been a staple of the EPCOT festivals for years. Whether it’s Figment during Festival of the Arts, Spike the Bee during Flower & Garden, or Remy during Food & Wine, the setup is always the same: Buy a map and sticker set, hunt around the park for themed figures, and then claim a small prize at the end.

It’s a clever, simple game that keeps kids engaged while the grown-ups enjoy the festival. But now, it’s also just a little more expensive.

This is the second price increase in just a few years—the maps were $7.99 before jumping to $9.99 in 2021. Now, guests will have to decide if it’s still worth it at $11.99.

EPCOT’s Family Appeal Comes with Trade-Offs

EPCOT has made huge strides in becoming more welcoming to families. New rides like Frozen Ever After and Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure are clear crowd-pleasers. And experiences like Journey of Water, character meet-and-greets, and interactive exhibits have made the park feel more balanced for all ages.

But it seems that as the park has shifted to be more family-friendly, Disney has found ways to monetize every little experience. What was once an affordable add-on now feels like just another line item on an already pricey vacation.

Even without rides or dining factored in, extras like scavenger hunts, PhotoPass downloads, and special souvenirs start to stack up quickly.

Not a Dealbreaker—But Definitely Noticed

Let’s be real: $11.99 isn’t going to break most people’s vacation budget. But it’s the principle. These scavenger hunts were beloved because they felt like a low-cost way for kids to make memories. Now, even that comes with a slight sting at checkout.

It’s not the kind of increase that’ll make national news—but it’s the kind of thing longtime visitors notice.

One fan put it best: “It’s just one more thing. Nothing huge on its own, but when everything costs a little more, it adds up.”

So, if you’re heading to EPCOT this fall, plan accordingly. That cute little scavenger hunt your kid loved? It’s still there—just now with a slightly higher price tag attached.
