EPCOT Deals With Several Closures, Major Changes Will Impact All Guests

EPCOT has built a reputation as the festival park of Walt Disney World, offering rotating events that celebrate art, food, and culture. As the seasons shift, so do the experiences, and this week marks another big transition.

On February 24, the EPCOT International Festival of the Arts will officially come to a close, making way for the next major event. This festival has provided a creative playground for guests, featuring interactive art, Broadway-style performances, and limited-time treats. If you haven’t yet visited, now is your last chance before the park’s offerings change.

Festival of the Arts Says Goodbye

For the past several weeks, EPCOT has been filled with artistic expression, from colorful chalk art to hands-on workshops where guests could participate in their own creations. The Disney on Broadway Concert Series has also been a highlight, bringing beloved performers from stage productions like The Lion King and Aladdin.

Food plays a major role in every EPCOT festival, and this one has been no different. Speciality booths have served up imaginative dishes. Fans of Disney souvenirs have also flocked to grab the popular Figment popcorn bucket, a festival exclusive.

The Flower & Garden Festival Blooms Next

EPCOT won’t stay quiet for long, as the park is already preparing for its next festival. Beginning March 5, the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival will take over, bringing a completely new theme and atmosphere.

Guests can expect to see stunning character topiaries throughout the park, along with vibrant floral displays and garden exhibits. The butterfly garden is always a favorite, offering a peaceful place to observe these beautiful creatures up close. Outdoor kitchens will introduce fresh new dishes inspired by spring flavors, making the festival a foodie’s dream.

Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind Standby Queue Arrives

Along with the festival shift, EPCOT is making a major change to one of its newest attractions. Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, the high-speed indoor coaster, is moving away from its virtual queue system. Instead, later this week, guests will be able to wait in a traditional standby line, just like other major rides in the park.

This update is great news for visitors who prefer more flexibility. The virtual queue system often required guests to wake up early and secure a spot within seconds, making it stressful to plan a day at EPCOT. With the standby queue option, guests can now decide when to ride without relying on a boarding group.

Between the festival transformation and the changes to one of EPCOT’s biggest rides, this week is shaping up to be an exciting one for the park. Whether you’re making one last visit to Festival of the Arts or getting ready for Flower & Garden, EPCOT continues to prove that there’s always something new to experience.
